What would you do? Here is the situation. I have 718 CS that is 4 months old that is my weekend drive and a blast to drive (manual T)( very few bells n whistles). I have a 2 year old M4 as a daily drive that I put 5000 miles on per year, semi loaded that is a great DD. However, my neighbor backed into it 1 week ago n pushed in the left front fender a bit n thus going for repair soon (still driveable, no problems at 95mph) pretty much cosmetic damage.
Who would sell ASAP after repair (even if repair job was outstanding). The M4 just took a resale hit n the longer I keep it the more it declines in valu (diminished value)
What other sports car should I test drive?
Is the Cayman GTS in the mix ( use Cayman S as DD).
Or will my wife throw me out of the house for getting another Porsche?
( not an issue regarding 2 seater as I have an F150 that is 2 years old)

Sell the BMW and use the 718CS as your daily driver and fun weekend car. And remember... Happy wife, happy life.

I have similar cars. We have a Boxster, 135is Dinan S2 and Stingray. Depending on how bad the damage is, I would eventually trade it. If it’s a simple minor bumper thing that’s mainly cosmetic, I’d keep it. If the trunk or other parts that close have been impacted, it’ll never be perfectly right, then I’d probably want to trade it for an M2, X6M or maybe even an M3 sedan.

I like the idea of multiple cars that perform different specialized functions. Cayman fits my sports car slot. My wife drives an E300 sedan, I recently traded my older Tundra for a F150 Raptor. Future cars might include a GT style convertible, a Jeep, a Cobra replica, etc.

An M4 seems like it overlaps, but I am sure it is a whole lot of fun! I don’t see the point of having both a CS and a GTS unless it is a Boxter.

I agree...in a perfect world I’d have a GT350 and Raptor in addition to my Cayman and Fiesta ST!

You've got a 718 S. You've got an F150. You want a more practical DD. You liked the M4 quite a bit, and you didn't put many miles on it per year for a DD (though BMWs are known for not holding value well).

First question: Where do you live, OP? That will be a factor regarding what works as a DD because of climate ...
Second question: Is four doors an option?

... but in lieu of all that, two words: M2 Competition.

(Seriously: I agree with the posters that espouse variety. Sounds to me like a small luxury sedan might be the smartest play.)

How can you have 2 many sports cars? I have 5 collector cars & 2 motorcycles & a Polaris RZR 1000. I just figured it out, I don't have a wife, I can spend my $ how I want!!!!

I have four collector cars plus the Porsche. And two vintage race cars. And I just sold an airplane (no time...….too many cars :) )

We just bought a new enclosed trailer for said race cars and I ordered a new Chevy van this week to replace our current ('09) tow van.

But in my case, my wife is my biggest enabler. ;)

AMG C63 Coupe. I prefer Mercedes. :)

There's something about having a 4 seater that adds a lot of practicality. Even if you have the F150. Especially being married.

I'm single and when I do get the Cayman, I'll have the RAV4 for when I do need it. The Cayman and my motorcycle will get more mileage (read: daily) than the SUV, but, it's nice to have the option.
