My turn for an allocation cayman GTS

Hi everyone!
It’s finally my turn for an allocation for a cayman 718 GTS. I’ve been waiting for a year for this allocation. The car is scheduled to be built starting in April. The dealership is asking for my build by Thursday.

I was hoping I could run my build with you guys as this is the first porsche I’m going to own.
I test drove a 2017 cayman 718 S in manual and absolutely loved it.

I have some questions:
Regarding PASM, it raises the ride height by 10 mm right ? I just want to confirm that this is not a typo. They didn’t mean to say lower by 10mm?
Does anyone here have any experience with the bucket seats? Would they do it again ?
I really can’t decide between shark blue, arctic grey and python green. All are such beautiful colors. Does anyone here own an arctic grey 718 ? Would you do it again ?
Thank you everyone.

GTS comes with Sport-PASM standard. S-PASM is -20mm from non-PASM cars. Regular PASM is only -10mm from non-PASM. So yes, if you select PASM instead of the S-PASM that is standard the car is raised 10mm over GTS standard.

can you select having PCCB for the vehicle ?
I couldn’t find this as an option to select. Thank you.
PCCB are reserved for GTs currently. They were an option before. Overkill for GTS IMHO. Unless you are planning on tracking it regularly, but that would be better suited for GT4.

I'm having second thoughts about the bucket seats as I'm probably not going to take it to the track.
Oak100 - do you mind posting your build of your 718 GTS? I'm curious to know how you built it. Thanks.
Here's my build. I just picked her up few months ago. The buckets are really comfortable for me (I'm 5'7 155lbs) when I tried them in GT4 they had on the lot. It was just a pain to get in and out especially if the doors are only slightly ajar. Which is an issue for me as I have a smaller garage. Not so bad if you can swing the door wide open.

FYI- the GTS interior comes with carbon fiber trim but your manual gear lever is in brushed alum. May not bug you but I would prefer they match.

I'd personally skip on the gloss black trim and use that money towards black brake calipers. Red calipers and aurum wheels remind me of McDonald's. You can get the trim wrapped in vinyl if you really hate satin black trim for much less.

I almost went with the shark blue as well.
Thank you for sharing that

I would absolutely do Arctic Grey again. I went for the two tone chalk interior, with aluminium trim - IMHO it complements the exterior well.

The colour in this photo is quite close to reality too

Why waste the money on Nav? Don't you have an iphone?

Would not put buckets in a GTS.

Agree with ditching navigation if you can use CarPlay. $2320 is a lot of money for a feature I've never once wished I'd had between 2 different 718s over the last three years. Always use Waze/Apple Maps/Google Maps when driving.

I also don't know if I'd do the SportDesign in gloss black. Those parts take a ton of abuse (road rash) and are easily replaceable in the standard material versus having to paint them (Porsche does not sell them pre-painted in high gloss black).

My wife's Macan has NAV, and I can't remember a single time we've used it. Waze projected to the screen on Carplay is much more functional, if for nothing else for showing where the police are hiding.

Agree with others. Ditch the buckets as they are more suited to a GT car. A GTS is more of a performance Grand Tourer. Personally I’d swap the red GTS package for chalk/crayon if you really must have it. Also agree to ditch the gloss black on the exterior as it will show every swirl mark known to man and not cheap to replace when the time comes.

I didn't notice the LED headlights were not part of the premium package. For only $660 I'd add them if they're really available again. They're really cool compared to the more traditional headlights.

Thank you everyone.
Im going to cancel the high gloss back exterior upgrades and cancel the navigation system.
Im also going to cancel the bucket seats.
Thanks for the helpful advice.

I’m torn between getting standard leather (in blue or agate gray) vs the gts interior package.
May I also ask if there is a huge difference between the standard (free) sports seats plus, vs the 18 way sports seat plus ?

I understand there are manual forward/back, up/down levers. But is there any additional adjustments that don’t come with the standard seats (like thigh adjustments/lumbar support) that can only be made with the 18 way?
