Would not put buckets in a GTS.

Agree with ditching navigation if you can use CarPlay. $2320 is a lot of money for a feature I've never once wished I'd had between 2 different 718s over the last three years. Always use Waze/Apple Maps/Google Maps when driving.

I also don't know if I'd do the SportDesign in gloss black. Those parts take a ton of abuse (road rash) and are easily replaceable in the standard material versus having to paint them (Porsche does not sell them pre-painted in high gloss black).

Why waste the money on Nav? Don't you have an iphone?

Yes it can and most PPF kits include a template for the rear wheel arch and bumper section behind the rear wheel. It did get dinged on my 2018 so PPF was a no brainer there on my 2023. It was included as part of the rocker PPF pricing.

Also you absolutely need to top coat your PPF with ceramic. They are two completely different products meant to do two entirely different things. Paint correction, then PPF first, then coat the entire car after.

Perfect coverage save for one question: Can't the paint behind the rear wheel get dinged, or is the shape of the body such that it is unlikely?

Also, putting the ceramic on the uncovered paint probably would cost as much as doing full PPF. The new top-line PPF's incorporate hydrophobic properties so you wouldn't have to worry about adding the cost of coating the film.

The ceramic is also about UV and contaminant protection which no brand of PPF does as well as a proper coating. I don’t understand the point of protecting something then taking a half measure to coat only unprotected panels. If you’re going to coat some of the car, coat all of it. It’s fine to do none of it, too, but partially coating is something no professional detailer is going to ever recommend.
