While happy we can travell now during COVID19 times, the hapiness almost ended in tears during our first day in France. Good tires and brakes are a blessing on our 718's. Stay safe everybody!bijnacrashzottefransman.MP4
Glad you came out unscaved, I pulled over to calm down, first I wantend to follow the other car, but it was pointless, nothing good would have come of it.I had the same experience, 2nd day I had the car, 2 blocks from home, on a one way street with no STOP signs. I am going 25 mph. A lady on a cross street (which of course has a STOP sign) makes a perfunctory stop and then proceeds to cross aiming squarely at my driver's door. I stepped on the horn while desperately turning the wheel right to gain time and space. She nudged in the other lane and kept going. I followed her and we both stopped at the next sign. She lowered the window and started screaming obscenities.
However, it was a Lexus SUV.
Good point/advise from now on I keep this in mind.I think our cars are so low to the ground that others just don't see them. Everyone's looking for big trucks and SUVs these days.
I always assume now that I'm not going to be seen in these situations. Unfortunate.
That's one reason I specified "Racing Yellow" on my order. I hope it works.I think our cars are so low to the ground that others just don't see them. Everyone's looking for big trucks and SUVs these days.

It should work, unless they are colourblind. And I tought Carmine red was flashy 😉 Maybe some rallylights can be worth looking into 🤣That's one reason I specified "Racing Yellow" on my order. I hope it works.
I also would have thought that 8 lights on the front would have increased visibility.😁Of course that supposes that people actually pay attention and look.😲
As a person who is red-green colorblind, I can say that Racing Yellow will be easier seen than many colors. I can also say that Carmine Red for someone like me will be invisible in many circumstances. Red is part of the color I call "Grown", as in GreenRedBrown. In many lighting conditions those colors (plus others as well) look the same and therefore blend into each other to make them invisible. It should work, unless they are colourblind. Many moons ago, I was told that there were dozens of bright red birds in the trees around me. This was at Disney in Florida. I COULD NOT SEE THEM no matter where I looked.
Suddenly though I saw one that for some reason was more visible to me, and suddenly all the other dozens of birds became visible. It was like a veil was lifted. This is how I see red, or don't see as the case may be, and why a bright red car to most can be essentially invisible to me and others.
Keep your DRLs on.
No need to apologize. Most people don't realize how colorblindness affects our view of the world. I hope my commentary helps a bit with that.I apologize for my ignorance.
I totally agree. That's the American way now in much of the country and I think this virus has infected much of the world as well. Unfortunately, the only cure takes years of education. Nothing overnight.😞Re: Car color to enhance recognition/attention...
We have lost the battle against stupidity...
Just a couple of evenings ago I was out for a drive (radical, I know) and I came upon a couple walking on the side of the road wearing the yellow-green hi-vis vests. The low angle sun had turned the grass the EXACT colour of the vests and they were INVISIBLE until their movement caught my eye. At that time I thought "Orange would be better." but with CaymanMatt's comments taken into account it sounds like paying attention is the only solution.Re: Car color to enhance recognition/attention...
I try to ride my bike every day for therapeutic reasons (arthritis). Being 66 yo and an engineer, of course, I ride wearing hi-vis yellow jersey and with a 550 lumen flashing LED strobe in the front. If you look directly at it, it's like an erupting volcano at 20-30 ft.

I'm not sure size is the only issue. A friend imported a Moto Guzzi police bike with most of the original police accoutrements. He said that his visibility increased by several hundred percent! 😁Great reaction and defensive driving skills! Glad you could avoid him.
I’m not questioning the color-blindness theory, but these cars are low to the ground and if you’re driving at a higher rate of speed than others are expecting, they simply won’t see you. It happens on my motorcycles all the time, even when I’m riding with the flow of traffic.
