I have a cayman S Carmine red. I bought it last year. it is 2017 model and it had 9 K miles on it. i didnot know about clear bra or ppf and i drove it a lot. i have a lot of paint chips on it . on the front hood, on the bumper and sand blasting on the rocker panels. i took it to a guy for ppf and he said its better for me to get it painted and then get the ppf done.

Also, he found out that the lowest part of my front bumper was may be spray painted on an area of 10 inch length and one inch width. he also stated that likely it was some damage and the ppf can pull or rip it while applying.

need help please. I am near ATL what should I do and where should I go?. really stressed about it. how much a good paint job cost and any recs if i should do that

Personally I wouldn't worry about it. The car will get a few scratch marks as it ages. Just shows you love driving it!

My car is a 2017 and I don't have PPF, and there are hardly any issues with the paint.

I tend to agree. I might consider applying PPF to prevent further damage, but I wouldn't start down the path of repainting/respraying (unless you want to change the color entirely.) I think respraying only to fix paint chips might tend to reduce the car's resale value. This is just my opinion of course.

There are people specializing in removing dimples and dents and then have other associates who will repair the paint locally.

Some are better than others.

Here is a €300 repair done in Greece:

Before:

Bumper Vehicle Automotive exterior Car Automotive lighting
Land vehicle Vehicle Car Automotive tire Tire
Land vehicle Car Vehicle Vehicle door Door handle
Land vehicle Vehicle Car Sport utility vehicle Automotive wheel system

After:

Land vehicle Vehicle Car Bumper Grille
Land vehicle Vehicle Car Compact car Honda
Automotive exterior Vehicle door Bumper Vehicle Car
Vehicle Car Automotive exterior Family car Door handle

As you can tell, one of my neighbors was not enamored with me or my Forester...

My Boxie had 8k miles when I bought it and a few paint chips from freeway driving. I took it to the detailer who does a lot of the local (SoCal)PCA cars and had him correct the chips, detail the car and apply clear film to the entire front and all rockers. $2,500 cost, the car looks new and I can enjoy it without worrying about every stone chip! Well worth it!

Nice! Like anything else, I would recommend the OP see some examples of a shop's work before trusting it to paint chips. A bad job can look worse than the chips themselves!
