Just got back from driving "our"/my wife's new Cayman from Florida to our home in Arizona (2200 miles in 8 days). Ran great, surprised at the gas mileage - 31 MPG overall. Enjoyed the Sport + mode - impressed with the performance from a 2.5 liter four banger. This is my wife's second Cayman. She had a black 09 S until we moved to Tucson. (Black is NOT a good car color here.) Three complaints: 1. Seats are uncomfortable unless I remove my wallet from my back pocket when driving, 2. No dash illumination if the headlights are not on, 3. Car is REALLY noisy on the crappy roads in Texas.

I need to see if this one will out accelerate my XK Jag. My 04 XJR Jag walked all over my wife's 09 Cayman S from 0 to 60.

Here is a picture. Note the alligator warning sign from Florida in the background.

Love the black wheels: I kinda wish my white S had them. Enjoy many miles in good health!

It is not hugely expensive to have wheels powdercoated black, or any other color you want. Google wheel repair shops in your area and it should cost ~ $150 per wheel. If you are in a large metro area they may do it on an exchange basis. In So. Cal. I did an exchange on wheels for my Highlander wheels - $600 including mount and balance.
