Finally got around to installing my new radar detector this weekend. Picked up a Cobra DualPro 360. Before those of you who don't know, and jump me with: "Cobra"? :p .............. a little background info. Escort, Beltronics, and Cobra have been under the same parent company since 2015. They recently decided to make some changes to their line-up. Cobra now has a top tier detector, the DualPro 360. This is a re-badged Bel GT-360. The Bel GT-360 was Bel's version of the Escort Max 360, so the DualPro 360 is pretty much a Max 360 with a few minor differences.

So far it's working fine. BSM is excellent, as is the range. The ability to mute out a false K band via GPS location is nice, as is the speed mute feature , no alerts below the speed you set. I'm using 25 MPH to catch the stray false at strip centers, etc. I tapped into the power in the overhead light/garage door opener panel.

My hats off to you guys. I don't know how you tolerate the incessant chirping of these devices. As I stated in a previous thread I bought the Uniden R3 and programmed it according to the YouTuber Vortex Radar and the thing chirped all the time.....I sent the it back post haste. I have never been pulled over by law enforcement while driving my Porsches since I do all my spirited driving on the back roads of Texas, and strictly obey the speed limits on the public roads.

When you combine the excellent BSM filtering with the very good range, it becomes a winner for me. The slightly better range of the R7 doesn't offset the false alerts for me. Different strokes, some people don't care about the additional falses, they want maximum range. "If" the range on the 360s was bad, it might be a different story, but 360 range is excellent, IMO.

Glad you figured it out. If I can help in any way shoot me a pm. Congrats on the new car!!!
So I got my blendmount and mirror tap installed today at my local car audio shop. They have done my other cars. So I have a 2018 GTS and I only had one set of blue plugs so the issue is I have constant power. I do have the radar setup to auto off after an hour. What are your thoughts on that?

That's exactly how mine is set up, I only have the "always hot" plug as well. I also set my detector to power off after one hour of no movement. I basically have a mental checklist when I get in the car and fire it up ....... engage sport mode, turn off sport exhaust until I'm out of the neighborhood, then turn on my radar detector. I've become accustomed to turning off the detector whenever I reach a destination and shut off the car. You should be fine, if you forget to turn off the detector, it will shut down after an hour. ?

What install instructions did you use for the power tap?

There were a couple of different topics posted about it plus I took it into a car audio shop to make sure it was done right. The hardest part was unclipping the plastic part with the lights and homelink. There was a post in different thread that talked about using a credit card. I was with the guy the entire time and I showed him the post and he took out something similar to a credit card and in the front there are two clips that pop it off.

I've got a Blendmount and Mirrortap for my Radenso Pro M. I chose it for it's small footprint and BSM. I had it installed by an audio shop with an upholstery shop heritage and they ran the power under the headliner and down the pillar into the main fuse box. The lead disappears after the Homelink/light console. I can't tell that anything was altered, and gave them an excellent Yelp review. It's set so that the unit powers on only when the ignition is started. I can half turn the key and nothing happens. I'm not sure how they did it, but it is possible. I never hear it chirp on anymore as it does it with the engine start up.

The Blendmount people were really cool to deal with. I forgot to enter a discount code when ordering, called them up and they gave me a refund. They were nice about it! I can't recommend them enough.

Having the unit power on when you start the car is a nice feature. I had that with the stealth install I did on my old Z4 M Roadster. I decided to save a few bucks and do this 718 install myself. Using a mirror tap into the power in the homelink/interior lights section of the car was much easier for me than running the power lead to the fuse box. I think my install looks professional and clean, but your install is actually the better way to do it, in my opinion. I have to remember to turn my detector off when I get to my destination. If I forget, the "auto off" feature is set to one hour. Your on and off via the ignition is one less thing to remember  As it is, I still forget on occasion to engage sport mode so the engine doesn't cut off at stops, I hate the engine auto off feature. I understand why Porsche did it, but I still don't like the fact it can't be turned off and the car remember the setting. And yes, I'm aware there is an aftermarket module to fix this. Ok, rant over, sorry for the detour :geek:

One less thing to think about is a good thing. I hate the auto off feature too, as I wait for the choke to come off before driving. I hit Sport or Sport+ once I leave the driveway.

I did not like the option of having the valentine under my mirror, as it takes away too much of the view IMO. And the little suction cups that come with it just suck, so I needed to come up with an alternative solution.
I ended up using a Wizgear magnetic mount, in combination with one of the metal plates that come with it. I used double side tape to attach it to the top of the valentine.
The magnet is strong enough to hold it in place, it won't turn at all. I took the twisty road section in my back yard to make sure it would hold up to some hardcore driving, and it worked perfectly.

Here's what it looks like:
