New to the group I am picking up my 2019 Boxster this coming weekend. Carerra White, Carerra 20” Sport Wheels, PDK.

Car just arrived at the dealership from Germany and cleared customs. I have seen many advertisements online and now I see that Mothers has come out with their version. So I have a few questions.
Would you use a Ceramic Coating on your car?
How long should I wait to apply apply any wax or this Ceramic Coating?
Feeling excited....
Thank you for all responses!

I've had Ceramic Pro applied to my Cayman, the lifetime warranty level (four coats) because they threw in the wheels and glass for the same price. I haven't had the car long and the only bath it has had was a thunderstorm I took it out in to wash the dust off. It looks beautiful and I am hoping that it continues to be easy to keep so clean because I'm particularly lazy.

Hi,
We got ours applied before we took final delivery and put any miles on the car (not even PDI miles). PPF and ceramic, we used our own detailer who spent a lot of time preparing before applying, which is critical to longevity- more costly/time consuming than the OPC, but we felt this was worth it. Once you have ceramic no need for wax. Getting it done as soon as possible is also optimal and would be my advice.

^^^^^^ very important post. when mine was done at a friend's shop (the day after i picked up the car) he said the dealer prep on the car was pitiful and spent quite a few hours getting the surface ready, and a surprisingly large amount of clay bar action.

i actually had the clear paint protection done to almost the entire car first, then the ceramic coating over that. i wanted as much protection as i could get and i am veryu happy. washing the car is soooo easy now.

I'm also going the full PPF and the ceramic coating on top.

You know G-technic has just brought out a new PPF specific ceramic coating called Halo:

I think if you are just cruising around the suburb on the weekend and not doing too many miles then the PPF is maybe not necessary but if you are doing highway miles, tracking and drive days then PPF will help protect, but then you could also get a respray down the track with the spare change.

We have just the ceramic coating on our suburban daily with occasional freeway/interstate road driving and it is doing fine. You just need to not follow too closely.

I will be taking delivery of my brand new 718 Boxster any day now (hopefully tomorrow), and it has already been at the detailer to get PPF on the entire front of the vehicle and the rockers, on top of that it has received 5 layers of CarPro CQFR ceramic coating, as well as different types of coating on wheels, brake calipers, windows, softtop roof and exhaust tip.
I personally believe the best results are achieved when the car is coated from new.

I'm pleased with my current car's OPC dealer applied Gtechnic, which I only had because it was built into the deal at an additional discount. After a year, it still holds up. However, my previous two cars had some similar nano-technology or unfathomably complicated scientific application and I really couldn't see that it lasted any better than a good waxing. In fact, the last one, carmine red, was absolutely covered in fine swirly scratches. I'd be very careful who was to apply it if I go that route again. These minimum wage valet boys at dealers aren't exactly factory trained!

Last couple of weeks I discovered that the CPO Cayman I bought has the lower part wrapped in PPF. The dealer kept mum about this (possibly didn't know, which calls their professionalism to the spot) and when I bought the car they tried to re-sell me the package. The car had 2-year protection for the wheels and a 'ceramic coating' (on the PPF?). I plan to take the car back a couple of months before the year is over and have them restore any blemishes on the wheels.
