hello

I traded in my 991 Carrera S for a 6 month old 2700 mile Cayman GTS - very happy with my choice

hope to gain lots of useful knowledge from you all

Wow I like the Cayman GTS better, particularly in the GT Silver you have. That will be my pick.

However, I think a lot of people would be shocked that you've gone from a 991 Carrera S to a 718 Cayman, particularly a 4 cylinder one!

Curious to know how you've found the change? Not many people going in that direction. Why not another 911?

budgetary issues in play - just couldn't afford a much better 991 on my budget, didn't need the rear seats and I had loved the handling of a 718 Cayman S on a track experience event at Porsche Silverstone

so when this car came up at a Porsche centre 10 miles away I had to try it and loved - the rest was just paying the price to change

for me the 991 has turned into a GT car and the 718 is more the size and nature of my early 911's - 964 and 993

not missing the 2 cylinders or seats so far

Beautiful car! Your reasons for used Cayman GTS are the same as mine. Still stock-piling money for a targeted December purchase. I am going to drive a Jaguar F Type R, but suspect it will be closer to my Audi S5 in feel than the Cayman- and throw me into the arms of the siren-like GTS.

had an F Type S Coupe before the 991

truly a beautiful car and an epic noise

again in my view a GT car rather than a sports car

I had the 5.0 litre supercharged in an XKR before that - what an engine

if I had been able to afford a 5.0 litre F Type maybe I would have loved it more

as it was driving a 718 Cayman S on track showed me I was missing too much in the ride handling departments and I ended up buying my 6th and 7th porsches

Very interesting post - had been fretting over not ordering a 911 so reassured by your logic, experience and decision.

Interesting spec on your GTS. Confirms my paint selection but that leather and wheel combination has got me thinking.

Timlaw: That Jag is so beautiful- and hits on exactly the reason I intend to evaluate it before pulling trigger on a Cayman GTS. First world problem!
lol

it is a good problem to have

the F Type coupe is a lovely car and I have had some nice ones over the years but it was the only car where complete strangers regularly walked out of their way to say "nice car mate!"

no bad choices either way - maybe the F type will speak to you more than it did in the 18 months I had the car

for me it was always going to be the case on personal preference that the only place I wanted Alcantara was on the headliner
2 tone full leather seemed a reasonably priced option - a rare thing imo - and I probably would have ordered black over agate grey but once I saw black over Bordeaux in person and against GT silver it just looked so right that it want from being a positive negative point from on line pictures to a huge positive in favour of the car instantly

the configurator is a really helpful tool but getting up close and personal with the actual colour interior and exterior options of your choice is essential before you pull the trigger

I'm was excited to receive my build and delivery confirmation last week for a 2021 Cayman GTS 4.0 in night blue metallic...I did limit my optional add-ons to what really counts for me. Yes I did select a PDK transmission and air conditioned seats, and sport chrono package. The interior is standard, no frills needed e.g. deviated stitching or colored seat belts. Managed to stay under $100K US. I cant keep my mind from counting every day to delivery in 2 months.
