Looking for opinions on trading in 2017 Cayman S for new 2020 Cayman T.

Not sure I would miss the additional power of the S, but that is a big concern.

Current S has a lot of options, but mostly appearance stuff - carbon fiber interior and wheel, leather interior, etc. No SC, PASM, PTV, sport exhaust. MSRP near $88k! I bought it off the lot about 9 months ago at a fairly good discount.

Daily drive it. Also track it. Plan on 5-6 days this season. Only had one chance last season, and it was a blast.

Love the idea of getting all the track helpful stuff in the T with the lower price point. Possibly switching from PDK back to manual as well. PDK is great for my daily driving, but I'm looking for more driving interaction.

Am I crazy? Just leave it alone?

Will I notice the difference on track with PTV, PASM, etc? Or will the additional power of the S just make up the difference anyway - depends on track probably?

Thoughts?

It depends on how often you track the car, what you expect from your track day, and is handling or track times more important?

Plus, how important is the car as a daily driver? For me? For the similar money? Since the Cayman T is only a few thousand dollars less than the S, I'd rather have the S.

I'm looking at trading my 17 Cayman S (MSRP $86K) for a 911....not so sure I will make the switch, dealers are telling me that the 4 cylinder is not liked and best trade offer is $58k (car with 6.5k miles). I'm sure T will be better drivers car but I'd expect there's quite a bit required to change into the T. I would suggest that you keep the S. I love my car and made the decision to drive it more !

The T version is nothing more than a Base model plus the right stuff already in.

You pay the same price to spec a base 2.0 exactly like a 2.0 T.

The only difference are T stickers, only few color to chose and a different set of seats.

That said.... your question is: Better a bare S or a 2.0 with PASM, Sport Chrono and PTV

My choice is the driving pleasure, so NO doubt, better to have PASM, Sport Chrono and PTV.

I thought there was some form of "package" discount with the T? I thought I read 10% less than individually paying for PASM, PTV, SC, etc.
