It's a 2023, so what bolts and/or tune can I do without breaching my warranty when I take it in for my oil changes in the next 5k-10k miles.

Here is what I would like to do based on what I'm reading is a good start.. This a 30 hp rear wheel upgrade in most cases if I'm ready dyno sheets correctly?

  • BMC Air Filters
  • Over Axle Exhaust
  • Stage 1 Tune

Here is my delivery drive off video. Love this car so far.. But want just a little more grunt on the low end.

Just my (Opinion) ..................

Based on my 50-years of experience.
Don't do ANY-Tune because Porsche can Scan to see if one has been done.
There goes your Porsche Factory Warranty !!!

Do as you wish but I advise you NOT to do ANY aftermarket Tune, ever.

I'm no expert, but I'm planning to do some exhaust bolt-ons next year (cat-back). I don't think that will cause any warranty issues.
Edit: I'm doing it for sound mostly. Don't care about power, as I feel it's fast enough already for me.

Thanks Terry, good to know. I will initially consult my dealer too as they may have approved vendors they work with that will keep inline with any warranty.

I think you are playing with fire if you really care about the warranty. I doubt a dealer will 'guarantee' that a preferred vendor will not break the warranty, and no vendor will agree to cover the warranty if their work doesn't pass. You'll have no options at that point except enjoy your new tune and to save up for any needed warranty work that won't be covered.

Personally, I don't get the need to do 'things' to the cars. I mean Porsche has 75 years of proven and successful racing/engineering/design experience and I just trust them to get it right. Plus, once you start down the rabbit hole of improve this, tweak that, it never ends. There are tons of vendors out there that would like to free you up from your money, and all of them combined don't add up to Porsche's expertise.

Based on the logic around here, you cannot switch to clear side markets or all factory warranties will immediately be null and void.

Or don't listen to the FUD'ers and enjoy your car with mods. ECU tunes from reputable vendors are well worth the cost and have proven to be safe.

to be more specific, I think the systems covered by the factory warranty that could be interpreted as affected by the tune would no longer be covered. The reason is Porsche knowing the car was tuned might have a perfectly good case to show the tune caused the failure. For example PCM failure would be covered, while a turbo failure or head gasket issue would probably not be covered.
This is completely speculation on my part as well, but the reason why I won't tune the car until either the powertrain warranty is expired or I am confident I can personally cover the price of a large repair (~$25K) if things go wrong.

The OP specifically said "without breaching my warranty". People have been providing him reasonable advice in regards to that specific request.
And I have yet to see anything in writing from Porsche that says reflashing the ECU will automatically void your warranty. The warranty is a legal contract that states the manufacturer can deny a specific warranty claim if they can prove that an issue is not due to a defect in design or manufacture. If people want to claim that "Any reflash = voided warranty every time", shouldn't they provide proof? Aren't there thousands of Porsches out there with reflashes that still have their factory warranties intact?

And technically, you can say this about any mod of any kind - changing out the exhaust, tires, side markers, or floor mats. Clearly the dealer will know you've installed aftermarket floor mats! Assuming that mod would automatically create warranty issues strikes me as a bit of a reach. Why exactly would a reflash be treated any differently? Yes, any mod can cause a warranty claim to be denied. Will it though? What has been most owners' experience? It isn't black or white.

So, in the absence of written proof, I don't think it wise for anyone to make a definitive statement EITHER way. Any mod can result in a problem and any mod can cause a warranty claim denial. When people make definitive statements with no information to back them up, it strikes me as FUD. To OP's original question, I recommend looking into reflashing the ECU, but with the caveats I've already stated.

Very nice car!!!!, and judging from the smile on your face you are quite satisfied with it. I suggest you do your own research and make your own decisions about the performance mods. Personally, I modded up my 2019 Cayman S way before warranty was done and never had to use my warranty. But its completely up to you and your situation and tolerance for risk. Enjoy your car it is beautiful.
