Well I pulled the trigger on a CPO’ed 2017 Cayman S. I had no intention of doing this a few weeks ago but had been losing my patience with Lexus regarding what I considered a warranty issue and they did not. So Lexus lost a customer and Porsche gained one. Either way, I’m not looking back and can’t wait for the fun times ahead.

The Cayman is equipped with almost everything I was interested in. Sport Chrono, full leather, PASM sport suspension, sport exhaust, Bose, PDK, Carrera classic wheels, premium package plus, and a few other knick knacks. I have a thing for silver cars and this car scratched that itch as well. I have already made a few changes to the car as I went to the colored center caps and clear side markers. Sometime this weekend I’ll get around to getting a few more photos up with the changes.

Very nice-welcome. Sounds like a good list of options, many of which are how I typically option my Caymans. You will thoroughly enjoy the experience and will look for more and more excuses to just drive it.............

Thanks. Mileage was 14400ish. I am already enjoying the car immensely. It is very different than anything I have had in the past and my first time going German. The overall quality and attention to detail is amazing in my opinion.

The only thing it is missing that I do wish it had is apple car play. It does not appear there is an easy solution to this after the car is built. So, I’ll be going with the standard Bluetooth streaming to have Waze running. The app has saved me from several tickets to date.

Congrats! Beautiful car.

Apple Car Play can be fitted after the fact for around $1000 no problem. Just call a dealer service department, they should know or at least be able to find out.

Thanks.

On the Apple CarPlay topic... I have read quite a bit and got a little information here and there. What I haven’t seen is anyone who has actually added it and posted. Most of what I have seen is just people talking about adding CarPlay. I do need to just call the dealership. What I got on my way out after purchase was it cost “a lot” to add it.

Got around to snapping a couple pictures of the clear side makers and colored center caps installed. They just look right.

Also got around to getting a new family picture! Loving the new car.

Nice looking car.

FWIW, I don't understand the discussions about colored side markers. Especially I don't believe the comments that "the designers never intended them to be yellow." Surely they knew that the US is (probably) their largest single market and so planned for any US regulations. Personally I like the yellow accent as it adds a detail to my silver car. But that's a personal taste. Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion.

That is a nice looking car.

Thanks gents.

And like you said, clear markers are a matter of individual taste... so, to each their own. No different than the color of the car or interior. For instance, my wife hates red interior, I love it. Seen people refer to silver as boring and run of the mill, I wouldn’t have any other color. The markers are a quick and cheap change unlike some of the other things we can do to these cars. So how about it, or don’t! Doesn’t really matter if YOU ARE having fun.

This afternoon I realized one reason I like the yellow (actually more like orange) side markers. They augment the gold Porsche emblem on the frunk.

As I live in Denmark I have clear side markers from the factory, but I actually get what you are saying.
Depending a bit on the color of the car I think the orange side markers can add a bit of contrast to the car.
If I were to get a Boxster 986 I would also prefer one with orange rather than clear indicators, come to think about it, I actually sometimes miss the orange indicators of cars of the '80's and '90's.
