Curios, how this will affect 2019 718’s. I have not followed these regulations affects on Porsche Models. The new regulations do not apply to US cars, but are indeed affecting cars worldwide. What are new 718’s affects, if any?

After following the Changes to BMW’s: M3 getting a new steel driveshaft to fit in new filters, the new M2 Competition having a large muffler to comply with standards including filters fitted on the exhaust system, on the M2 Competition it actually cuts power if producing too many emissions on European models, but aesthetics and added weight are affecting US models that don’t need to comply. BMW is not adding the filters to US cars, but in production for all cars the changes have been made to streamline production and has negatively impacted US cars.

Any Porsche info provided is greatly appreciated! I am totally in the dark and hoping the answer is nothing! Thanks.

Presumably it will involve fitting a particulate filter, as in the diesels. These are expensive, sap power and prone to blocking in adverse conditions. So I'd guess the new compliant version of the 718 will be more expensive and less powerful. Strangely though the UK Porsche configurator shows the 718 as exactly the same price as last year's model despite the fact that any cars being ordered now will have to be compliant with new EU regs that apply from September. They used to have a rider on all their cars that the model displayed was no longer available and the configurator was for illustration only, but they've now removed that. So who knows?
