New X-pipe/tips option for 718

For those of us who have no urge, for whatever reason, to install an aftermarket exhaust ... and those of us who are not happy with how the OEM tips are wearing cosmetically (I'm in that camp, and have been since before 1K miles):

This assembly from Soul, a relatively new player in the exhaust game. Comes with a variety of tip options that range from straight/slash cuts to matte/gloss finishes.

This is in addition to this similar offering from Fabspeed, which is (unfortunately) not available in black metal. (Cue extreme Scandinavian band jokes, hehe.)

I'm about 80 percent sure i'll be ordering the Soul unit in the next month. Will keep the forum posted.

LOL, it would be impossible for Porsche to prove an exhaust tip would cause an issue (because it wouldn't), especially with it being behind the mufflers and not really part of controlling air/fuel or back pressure. This is more of a "I don't don't get to charge you mark up on the parts and only get to gouge you on labor" response. I fully believe in using the dealer for service in most cases, but an answer like his defies common sense.

Ordered the polished chrome tip yesterday and expect delivery on Monday October 8th. Will call my installer tomorrow to set up an install date hopefully before the end of next week. I'll post pictures as soon as the installation is completed.

An update on mine: There's been a delay because of quality issues with the black coating that Soul has a third party apply, so mine were re-coated. Should arrive at my installer today, with installation Saturday (Oct. 13).
Update on mine: Dual tip will arrive on Monday October 8th and installation is scheduled for Thursday October 11th. Pictures will follow.

Do they require professional installation? Could I just get at them w/ a wrench?
Looking forward to the pics. Have my eye on the polished Chrome ones myself.

Some members have installed them themselves but its not as simple as you might think. Both mufflers have to be lowered in order to get the single tip off and the dual tip on. Professional installation would be better. Should't take more than an hour at a cost of $100 to $115.
Very excited this morning. On my way to get my Soul polished chrome dual tip installed. Pictures later.

Installation took just under one hour at a total cost of $108.75 and it looks great. I could not be happier with the results. Pictures below.

Did you get it installed yet?

@2018Cayman : Installed on Saturday, and they look perfect -- at least in the rain! (We've had torrential storms in Dallas since last week ... and it's gonna last through this week, too. Ugh.)

I've only had time (and dryness) to snap this quick shot at the installer, which took some extra time to align everything perfectly. Quality is high, particularly in the X-pipe. The only small blemish is a patch of inconsistent coating inside each tip in one spot, which will summarily be covered by carbon buildup in a couple of weeks anyway.

The matte black tips are ceramic coated, which apparently will last at least a year to reject water spots, stains, etc. I suspect the tips only can be replaced a few years down the road if need be. We'll see how they last.

The matte black tip looks great. How long did it take your installer to complete the job? Mine was right at one hour.

About 90 minutes, give or take. The torrential rain we're currently having here slowed things down a tad for them.

Are you happy with the tip? I am very pleased with the polished chrome tip. It looks great with the chrome lettering and license plate cover I just added.

Very, so far. Exactly the size, finish, and 'look' I was wanting. We'll see how they clean up after all this ickiness passes!

When your weather clears I would love to see pictures in the sunshine.
Soul X pipe installed, brushed finish:
Looks great. How do you like them?
Looks great and the signature satin works well with my platinum satin wheels ...
