All, I just completed my purchase of a 2018 Cayman, although I should have joined here first then gone on the search for this amazing car. I will be flying into Portland from Cleveland next week to pick up the car and drive it back across the U.S. I will be going south down the pch to pick up my wife in Napa then follow the coast down to San Diego where she will fly out and my brother will pop in the co-pilot seat for the shot to Dallas. All back roads mind you. I truly hope to bring out the best of this car in the cross country journey. I would welcome any and all suggestions on the trip (I am a fly fisherman and want to stop a bit and hike out to some streams for brook or rainbow).
GT Silver over Grey leather. Really enjoy this forum. digs

Congrats!
I picked up my 2018 Cayman at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta. My wife and I drove it 1000 miles back to New Jersey. So I can relate.
You'll have a great time!
I'll make the suggestion that you locate the 718 manual (online) and read about the basic controls. This way you'll be prepared and better able to work the radio/sound system, the heat and air-con and all the other basics.
Since your car doesn't have a spare tire, it might be a good idea to sign up for AAA road service (or similar) if you don't already have this. The car should have an air-pump and "goop" for any flat tiers, but it never hurts to be extra prepared when you're that far from home.
I recently drove out to Cleveland (to pick up a Formula Ford). Man it's cold out there!
And yes, pictures of your new car when you get a chance!
