The industry -- no, the world -- is being totally transformed by self-driving (computers) and electric (green). Nothing would surprise me as too drastic a move for volume manufacturers. In a time-frame where many of us will still be driving our 718s, I imagine our kids and theirs will perceive them as antiques like we thought of the Model T.

Within that big picture, it seems pretty foolish to get emotional over current 'loss' of cylinder-count or natural induction. At least we've got steering wheels and fossil-fuel-burning engines...

I'm 66 years old tomorrow and it makes me sad a little that I'm witnessing an era going away. I have a Shelby GT350 that keeps my 718 company and I was thinking about selling it. It's a unique naturally aspirated car and now I'm thinking I ought to just keep it around.
