I got the Flat6 OAPs on today and I'm basically driving a brand new car again.

In 1st, 5th-7th, the difference is quite subtle all through the power band but the pops and bangs of the NA engine are finally making it out and into my eardrums.

In 3rd and 4th, above 3500rpm - holy **** its like a Dolby Atmos Surround Sound 3D Spatial Audio experience kicks on at volume 11 out of 10.

I cannot recommend OAPs enough to any 718 owner especially 4.0 owners. Do this before you do any exhaust or headers and re-evaluate. You may end up loving it and saving yourself quite a bit of money.

You Know It...Once You Experience It

Especially PSE is on...give it throttle and the full Sturm und Drang gets going - I'm still in 4K detention (engine run-in) so I have yet to experience the upper end yet

the Flat 6 OAPs went on the first week after I got the CGTS

Between the flat 6 whirr when driving 'normally', the baritone exhaust note and the WOT sounds. And it sounds way better even in cylinder deactivation mode as well

Center - OEM OAPs w/ GPF
Outer - OAP pipes that delete the GPF ["sound choker"]

Yup, agree here. Had the dealer install the AOP at delivery. Only 900 miles into it so for, so still keeping RPM under control, but sure does sound wonderful. Really should be considered "mandatory mod" for the $1500 or so they cost IMO.

Unfortunately it's against the law in the UK to remove the GPF and will also result in an MOT test at the 3 year point.
plus yours are probably monitored with 02 sensors - the US versions don't have GPF monitors

Nice to see this feedback. My CGTS still has just 11 miles on it due to weather but I expect to have it out next week. The following week I'm having these same OAPs installed along with the two-mode Cargraphic valve controller. It's always hard to truly understand the differences by watching videos so to see some real world confirmation is great.

CGTS4.0 owner here. I did the OAPs too, but I was disappointed that the OAP change alone was much more subtle than I had hoped it would be. I then tried the low-cost exhaust "collar mod" that keeps the PSE in a partially-open state all the time. That was certainly better, but it wasn't until I got full manual control over the exhaust valves (via a Softronic tune in my case) that I truly fell in love with the OAPs and stock exhaust. The valve controller is definitely highly recommended for the same reason! With the PSE in the open position, the car sounds so mean at all RPMs - and it eliminates that annoying switchover that occurred around 4K RPMs. And when I want to tool around town and drive it sedately, I can leave it in quiet mode and it's nearly as quiet as a Camry.

It's not about measuring particulate contents. Any car built after 2018 has a GPF/PPF fitted as standard. If the MOT tester has any knowledge, he should know this and look for it during the test. If it's removed, it's an instant fail.

Hal, what did this modification cost you? Did you install yourself?

I've never done any significant modifications to any of my Porsches - the short shifter in my CGTS being the most - but since everyone is enthusiastically recommending the Flat6 OAP's maybe I should consider it.

I have the Flat 6 Motorsports OAPs they'll run sales from time to time - list is $1,795 for the pair -

I did the install myself - there's 4 gaskets (Porsche parts) that are needed (2) are cat-to-pipe and then (2) pipe-to-muffler
