Does anyone know of the thickness of a new set of OEM pads on a C base model? I've searched around and came up with other Porsches that seem to be either 9.6mm, 10mm or 12mm?

I've got a DE coming up and they say they want at least 1/2 of pad left. I've got a brake pad option with my dealer, but suspect it'll be pulling teeth to have them replaced before I get a message light.

Thanks

Wow, that's not much. If I'm looking at the right thing, that backing plate is just under 2mm. The Carrera S wheels making checking the pads extremely easy.

Ah... OK. I thought this was what you meant by the backing plate.

That's the anti-rattle shim, btw. In case you were wondering.
Got it. A watched a video on changing the pads and they called it a backing plate. I thought that was the piece with the two "nubs" on it. I've got a lot to learn. I guess I need more than a screwdriver and a hammer too :)

I've been trying to find out the Porsche spec for pad replacement (wear in mm) but haven't been able to find it from the literature. Does anyone know the official wear point? I've got one pad replacement covered under a stupid 3rd party plan I purchased. I know it's going to be puling teeth so I'd like have the info before approaching them.

Thanks again for any help.
