Hello, I'll pick up my CS by this weekend and already thing about a few mods that would help to make this car more "mine", and painting the interior trims in the exterior color (door panels and dashboard and main console) comes first on my list. I did similar mods with several of my previous Porsches and the result was great. However, I'm wondering if someone here did it on a 718? Any technical issue with trim removal? Cheers!

If by paint you mean replace (or even remove), I don't believe the trim can be removed from the doors. I looked at doing this as well but painted dash trim with silver door trim I figured wouldn't look right.

I couldn't stand the silver on the dash...mine was even a bit discolored on the big piece between cup holders....bought the car new...although it had been sitting a while. 2018 model purchased in March 2019. I was very happy to install CF inserts. They fit perfectly and stock ones were a lot easier to remove than I thought they'd be. The console required a different gasket. Yes, there's a gasket. The one that came with the CF didn't work right so we put the original in...fit fine.

I have silver side panels (full leather). They don't suck, but I wish I could have CF (not CF tape over the silver, thank you. to complete the look...but it's much improved. CF with full black leather looks the business, I can tell you.

Also got a sport manual shift linkage while I was doing interior bits. That's seriously a great item. Perfect for this car. Not crazy short...just right.

I think technical issues can be If trim removes from any interior or exterior. if you wanna know more about painting that can help you. You can change the color by painting the interior trims in the exterior color (door panels and dashboard and main console), But it would be very odd. Because all trims are colored there to match everything the same as.

Interior trim colouring is not for me tbh however, if you feel so inclined, the trims either side of the steering wheel pop off using a trim tool. Same for the centre console trim. The cup holder trim is a little more difficult as you need to remove the whole cup holder assembly (there are youtube videos available on how to do this) and finally, as mentioned, the door card trims are plasti-welded on so the only way of being able to paint those is to take the door card off and mask up the whole piece apart from the section you want to paint.
