Purchased, installed and confirmed working.

Not enough posts to include link, but from the Kufatec.de site Navigate:
Vehicle Manufacturer > Porsche > Cayman > Type 982.

This is literally plug and play. Each unit is mapped to the OBD it’s plugged into (one module for one car). Plug in, the red light indicates gathering vehicle data, then goes off. Green light indicates mapping changes to motion sensor, after about 3 minutes, unplug... drive.

From the site:
“Intended exclusively to allow the passenger and other vehicle occupants the DVD function while driving.”

Plays video from all factory installed sources:
DVD, SD, USB. I’ve confirmed all.
Video from Non-DVD sources must be formatted to specifications in order to play back.

Not cheap, but service is great and very fast shipping from Germany. Hope this is helpful.

Here is my Kufatec VIM working... That's Pink Floyd PULSE concert video.

Placing video's on SD card is a lot of headache due to many different incompatible formats. I use NERO to convert to MPEG1-2 DVD disc.

I have a Lockpick for Jeep Wrangler for VIM which is a great entertainment option when going on a 3600 mile round trip to do some 4-wheeling in Moab, Utah.

I am looking for new DVD headunit and a way to enable VIM for 2019 Mustang, so if anyone has done it please let me know.

Having done extensive testing (and as part of my full time job), I can recommend the following guidelines for playing back media on your PCM from a removable source.

Using FFmpeg (or your favorite converter) create a setting that will output the video to these PCM specifications:

- Video:
* Bit rate - 2000 kbps
* Dimension - 720x576
* Frame rate - 25fps

- Audio:
* Sample rate - 320 kbps
* Sample frequency - 48 kHz

Anything other than these specifications will show up in your file list, but will be grayed out.

Copy your files over to a SD or USB (remember to format your removable media in either exFAT or FAT32).

Let me know if you have any questions.

I found using SD card to view video is just high maintenance, lots of work converting incompatible video files to one that will work. I spent way too much time converting to one media, then to another (MP4) or MP4 to correct MP4 format.

I went back to DVD disc. Simple enough, and I can skip forward or backward to different songs. With MP4 I could not do that.
