I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem or not.
When I have no passenger with me, the seat belt buckle rattles and bangs against the seat back and door frame trim.
Very annoying.

I'm sure there are multiple solutions for this, but I came up with this quick fix that solved the problem.
Take the belt buckle and insert it under the door frame plastic trim where it meets the floor carpet.

Rattles and banging are gone. :)

Somewhere on here is a thread regarding fixes to little nuances. As I recall, the rattle you describe only needs to have the plastic/rubber tension slide pulled up to the top of the seat belt roller above the seat. Look for that threat as it has many good suggestions re: rattles and and such.

It's far easier just to lean across, grab the seatbelt & fasten it as if you were carrying a passenger. You can also slide the loop up & that helps, but it'll eventually move down again, or at least it always did on my previous 981. I got into the habit of fastening the seatbelt with that car & have done so ever since.
