I notice these are night photos. If it isn’t visible in daylight, then I suggest you’re probably seeing either normal imperfections in the lens, or dust that infiltrated through the vent.

Thanks for your input. It does not seem to be imperfections in the lens as it is only visible directly in front of the each of the led’s. I do believe that as you say it may well be dust that infiltrated through the vent. This leads me to question whether any others may have seen this same thing in their headlights and whether there is a way to easily get rid of the dust

I'm driving later today. I'll try to see if I notice the same thing after dark.

Does not have to be that dark as I have my light switches on auto and it is not dark enough for the main lights to automatically come on. I see it with my car parked in my garage (which has windows) during daylight hours.
Ok. At any rate, I checked mine with just the DRL LEDs on, and don't see what your photos have. I'm still guessing it may be through the venting, but it doesn't seem that it should do that. Dealer will know.

@Ramarchan Do a search under "crazing" on the forum. It might well be that you see the imperfections more clearly with direct light on it and it is less obvious during daylight. I'd suggest you have a good look during the day from various angles.

Thanks for the suggestion. The effect is clearly a small dotted effect such as dust. My dealer has agreed to look at it for a fix. I will be leaving the car with them for a week starting Sept 27 th. as I will be out of country. Will update this forum issue when I get back the car in 12 days or so.

I just noticed I have the same issue with mine never escalated it as my car's no more in warranty but do update on how it turned out on yours Thanks!
Do not think the dealer did much with it. The issue is still there. It was interesting that the dealer did not at first respond to my enquirers on the issue and only stepped up to the plate when I sort of suggested this may be a warranty issue and asked them if I should write to Porsche directly. Perhaps this is the route to go if I need to get a proper response to this issue. Will try this next.

I think that's how you should proceed I'll do that too from my end and also link this thread in the email to show it's not a one off problem.

Also I don't know if it's related but many 718's have another issue with headlamps and taillights wherein there is a bit of moisture that accumulates after a car wash or a drive in rainy weather I'm assuming that there is an issue with the light seals not sure of if it's particularly the PDLS ones as the taillights have been fogging up too I'll post some pictures of both the issues for reference maybe experts and diagnose the issue better.

I have heard of a case here in Delhi from my SA where a brand new car owner reported the lights fogging up issue and got an instant replacement of all four lamps.

Another fault which pops up occassionally for me is that the left headlamp just starts and then parks on lower left side while the right one still works alright and this error pops up (linked below) my SA says it probably is a camera calibration issue but I didn't follow up on it as we are now on a lockdown here and this definately doesn't seem like a priority for now.
