Porsche has recently uploaded an epic video of the 718 Boxster highlighting most of its interior and exterior features.
For a good portion of the video, you’ll get a close up look of their new turbocharged flat-four engine and how air moves through the side air vent and into the combustion chamber in order to produce that high torque engine speed. For anyone unsure of what the variable turbine geometry located inside the engine is, that turbine and those movable variable vanes surrounding it basically makes up the Boxster’s turbocharger. The vanes adjusts themselves to optimize turbine performance.
In the standard 718 Boxster is the 2.0-liter engine delivering 300 hp and 380 Nm of torque with a sprint time from 0-100 in 4.7 seconds. With the Boxster S’ 2.5-liter engine, you’ll be looking at 350 hp and 420 Nm of torque for a sprint time of 4.2 seconds.
Complementing this engine is a sport tuned chassis with direct steering for going around curves and for anyone who wants better traction and handling, the 718 Boxster does come with PASM sports suspension option which lowers the vehicle by 20mm.
If that’s not enough to convince you, maybe this list of luxury features will. The 718 Boxster comes with both a frunk and a trunk, LED headlights and taillights, redesigned cockpit with a new steering wheel, and a few tech upgrades including the Connect Plus modules which allows you to connect your phone to the infotainment system.
Worth a watch when you have the time.
