So many 'ridiculously fast' times posted by the 718 S, esp. the Nordschlief lap that has knowledgeable reviewers incredulous.
even asked Porsche what was going on -- the reply: "we do things properly..."
But even relative to other Porsches, recent and current, the 718 just seems faster than 350hp driving 3000lbs. should be. Wherein lies the answer? Perhaps something having to do with ECM helping that intercooled VTG turbo to force larger masses of dense (cool) air through the cylinders -- so even though the max. boost psi doesn't appear exceptionally high, actual airflow/volume possibly surpasses the 991 Turbo (VTG but not intercooled)? Still whatever the 'secret sauce' is, it doesn't reflect in dynamometer readings apart perhaps from that oddly right-angled (straight up, straight across) torque band -- itself a result of the aforementioned ECM/VTG/intercooler synergy unique to 718....?
