I've Navigation ad Connect Plus option.

The Porsche Car Connect App, works. (remote car control, geo fence, etc..)

I've the integrated SIM (standard in Italy) so i've always internet connection on.

The car hotspot works, tried with a tablet and my android phone, and I can connect them to car hotspot to have internet.

I've, instead, problems with the Porche Connect APP.

I've seen that, by PC app I can use directly from car the music services like Prime Music, Napster..

That doesn't work.

It says me that I need to establish wi-fi connection between the phone (where the app is) an the car.

I establish the wi-fi connection, but the APP don't see it, it says I'm not connected.. and also says that "the app must be running in background"

Anyone have this issue?

Any solution?

EDIT: Sorry I guess posted it in the wrong section

@Calimerus - The Android connection to the PCM is 100% useless. I am surprised you even have an internet connection with the embedded SIM. Might be an Italian standard setting. The 2 year "free" subscription doesn't provide internet connectivity in the UK. You have to buy Porsche data for that. I spent almost 3 hours during a "masterclass" at the OPC and learned exactly zip. Null, nada, niente, or whatever the Italian is for nothing. I went in to learn how I could share my favourite destinations on the porsche Connect App to the car. Without an internet connection it doesn't work...

You can use your own phone as a hotspot and connect the car again. This will just subsidise the "free" internal sim card with your own data. Again, the system doesn't accept your saved destination data from the connect app. However, if you connect this way you might as well run WAZE / Google maps etc and the music apps directly from your phone and play it via Bluetooth and accept the degradation of sound quality.

What I am puzzled by is that the PCM won't accept data via Bluetooth. I must admit that I don't actually know whether that is even possible but someone will hopefully step in now to share some knowledge

I have bought an external SIM card for the car but am loathe to use it until they release a proper Android Auto module.

Yes, in Italy we have an integrated sim with internet access as standard option.

I can do online search with Google for destinations (that is very useful), map and system updates, and so on.. :)

The only reason I want to connect the APP is to don't have to open PrimeMusic on the phone, but click directly on the screen to turn it on.

But, as I can see.. also in the Google Play store APP ratings and comments... it simply doest work :|
