Does this work if you don't have the USB port in the armrest? My 718 is a 2018 model & does not have CarPlay installed and therefore only has the USB port in the glovebox.

for these cars already have OEM factory Carplay, we can also activate Androidauto for it, same toolkit, and same activation procedure.

I realize now my original question wasn't clear. My apologies for needing to ask a different way:
The installation is done throigh the USB port in the glovebox. Once the installation us complete, does Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now function through that same glovebox mounted USB port?

Has anyone tried this yet? I have factory nav with no Porsche connect...I would love to have CarPlay working for real time traffic, WAZE, etc. But this feels a bit funny....

There are a few threads in this subforum about this solution.
I have it. It works great. Just wish it was available before I bought the ROiK unit. Could've saved some money...
My car came with Carplay, so i only had them activate Android Auto.

It sure does! Like vw and Audi allow android auto, Porsche choose not too...

So, if my car has Nav, but no Porsche connect and no Carplay, will this solution allow CarPlay thought the in-dash screen? Without the arm rest USB connection?
