Is anyone else having problems with iPhone bluetooth and / or car play connection not working right? Any ideas about cause or solution?
I switched to an iPhone 13 to get Google maps navigation through Apple car play in my 2023 CGTS 4.0, and due to general dissatisfaction with my Android phone. At first, the bluetooth connectivity worked fine. I tried Apple car play plugging phone into the usb port in center console and that seemed to work fine in a brief test. Then the iPhone bluetooth connection started not working correctly: incoming call rings on the PCM, I accept the call on the PCM, but the audio of the actual call remains on the iPhone which is in my pocket - same problem I was having with the Android phone. Tried rebooting PCM (all the way off, then restart), no change. Stop engine and restart, no change. Phone off and back on, no change. So I tried car play again, thinking I will just make and answer calls that way - and I couldn't get the car to recognize the plugged in iPhone. So I ordered the Porsche USB cable from Sun Coast USB Smartphone Connection Cable to try to fix car play, but the blue tooth appears to be a separate problem - no cable involved. So it seems to be a problem with the car. I'm wondering if I need an update of the PCM software, or some of the other software visible in the list of software versions the PCM will display.
Local dealer is really busy now - I am getting the radiator fan codes discussed in TSB 198/22 ENU 198 1 and made an appointment to have them address that (TSB only references GTS 4.0 through 2022, but I'm getting the same codes), and earliest they had was a month in future - March 25. I will have them update any software that is out of date. Any suggestions on getting the Bluetooth to work correctly while I wait for the Porsche USB cable and my appointment at the dealer would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I love my car on the street and on the track.
