Are there any 718 models or options which have lights in the doors instead of reflectors?

I’m wondering if it would be possible to fit some puddle lights like these Amazon Link which project a Porsche logo onto the floor when the door is opened. (Although the 718 is not mentioned, they appear to be identical in shape/size to the reflector on my base 718 - They are also available AliExpress Link)

I’ve just checked my MY2018 base Cayman and there is only a reflector installed, I was wondering if Porsche is likely to include the wiring for a light in a “standard” wiring loom or if a cable could easily be attached inside the door? Anyone taken off the door card any looked or has photos?

I know the power folding windows gets you mirror lights. I *think* the light design package does as well, but I'm not 100% sure. I have both options and I have mirror lights.
Do you have lights at the bottom of your doors @JakiChan ? (Which come on when doors open)

@nineball I remembered you’d stripped your doors to fit your upgrades (pics here) I was wondering if you remember seeing any spare connectors in the doors and/or if you have lights in your doors?

Does anyone have lights (puddle lights?) at the bottom of your doors that light up when doors are open. Mine have red colored lenses that may be covering lights, but nothing lights up when the doors open.

Perhaps they are not working...or are they simply reflectors with no real useful purpose (seriously, I tried making them reflect in a dark garage...they're effectively useless).

@Treemagnet - No & yes. No, nothing on the bottom of the doors. Yes, rectangular puddle lights on the parkable/articulating exterior door mirror bodies. Good light downwards - highlighting any puddles - after opening the doors. Tried it out in my darkened garage (haven't got out much at night recently what with the Covid-19 measures). Puddle lighting seems to act in conjunction with the follow-me-to-front-door headlights remaining on stuff. 718 Cayman GTS (2019 UK spec).

Almost certain that it does not.

Light Design Package adds vanity mirror lights and upgrades interior & trunk/frunk lights to LED.
Puddle lights only come with the Power Folding Mirrors option.

The 'puddle' lights that come with the power folding mirrors are in the base of the mirror housing.

The lights in the bottom of the door cards are always reflectors in the 718, they can be changed to lights (projected Porsche image or otherwise) but the wiring must be added and the door controllers must be coded as 991/991 Cab doors otherwise the lights won't work. Coding them for 991 Cab also has the effect that the windows drop more than the standard 718 Boxster drop when opening the roof.

Almost certain that it does not.

And the power folding mirror lights don't come on when the option to fold the mirror when locking the vehicle is ticked.
Mine is set 'to fold the mirrors when locking'. The puddle lights then shine downwards when getting out of the vehicle. If, for some reason, you manually fold the mirrors - before getting out - then logically the puddle lights stay inactive.
