Was online looking at the specs of the new GT4 (like everyone else here) and thought it strange that they were quoting 0-60 in 4.1s as that was the GTS number. Looking at the other models though, the 0-60 times for the S and GTS now both show 4.4s and the base 4.9s. Seems like they added 0.3s or so to the quotes. Doesn't affect the way my car drives of course, just strange.

Porsche seems to be quite conservative with their quoted performance figures. Especially with the Cayman/Boxster. They want to protect the 911 and I would highly doubt they would quote figures faster than those models. Even though in many published tests the Cayman S and GTS could be faster than the base 991.2 Carrera.

Since the GT4 could potentially be faster than the 992 Carrera, I can see Porsche not wanting to quote sub-four second times.

Those sound like the numbers for MT cars with the PDK equipped cars ~0.3-0.4 seconds faster.
With that said, I agree with @Baka1969 because when Car&Driver tested my MT equipped 718 Boxster S at the conclusion of their 40k miles with the car, they were getting 0-60mph times at exactly 4.0 seconds. And yes before you ask, the clutch is still fine on the car. ;)

I assume C&D bring the revs up to like 5000 RPM or more and then just dumps the clutch to get those times? :D

I see the same numbers as before. The 4.9s is base with manual and 4.4 is S/GTS with manual, manual being the standard option on these cars. PDK + SC are still shown as 4.5, 4.0 and 3.9 respectively.
Got it, thanks. I do recall the times they used to quote had the caveats of PDK & SC. Guess they wanted to level the playing field as the GT4 is MT only (which I think is amazing)... also, to not imply the GT4 is no quicker than the GTS.
