When I had my 981 I seem to recall seeing a few forum posts that said that all 981s we’re capable of having rain sensing wipers even if they weren’t supplied with the necessary dipping mirror option as the sensor was already fitted to operate the auto light system and could be turned on through coding, never an issue for me as my car had the dipping mirrors.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to do the same on a 718 and if so can you suggest someone who might be able to do it for me on my 718?

I have them and find them to be disconcerting because there is too much delay from moisture collection on the sensor and wiper speed. I end up adjusting manually so that I can safely see to drive.
Just in case you aren't aware, you can adjust the sensitivity of the automatic wipers. Personally, I love the feature, and frequently complain when I get in a car that doesn't have them :p

I love the feature too. As for delay, I recall reading somewhere that its activation is speed-dependent. If you are waiting for a stoplight when rain starts the automatic wipers may not start right away. I think I've seen that behavior. In any case, if the combination of surroundings and rain level doesn't work in any given situation you can always turn them on to a manual settings, with 2 speeds available. You can also push the lever down from Off to get a single wipe if the situation doesn't call for frequent windshield clearing.

I used the Front Rain Sensing Wipers this morning. I agree, they are hard to adjust. They are not perfect, but I still like them as an option. Both Front and Rear Rain Sensing Wipers work quite well with snow. I have the impression that the rear wiper is tied to or activated from the front wiper. Winter is coming.
