Re-calibrating windows
I had trouble with the electric heating on the steering wheel and took it in for the service guys to have a look. They quickly found a broken wire by the switch and the heat was again soothing my arthritis.
However the windows went all funny. Opening the roof from the key didn't lower or raise the windows; the driver's window had lost it's automatic functions and the lower/raise on opening/closing the door kept leaving a wider and wider gap with the door closed. So, back to service.
It was a one-minute re-calibration fix that was needed because the battery had been disconnected.
The fix went like this: lower the window all the way, take finger off button, re-apply finger and hold button down for 5 seconds. Then: raise window all the way, take finger off button, re-apply finger and hold button up for 5 seconds.
Repeat for the other window. All good.
Just in case it ever happens to you.
