Hey guys, could you pop your trunk and take a look at these spots for me? Normal yea/nay? Would you take this into the dealer for warranty? It's on both sides as you can see from pics.

Something is not installed right.
Should be an easy fix.

It may just be that the weatherstrip is not fully seated.
Following the line, it looks very wavy on your car.
it may have been removed at one point and not reinstalled properly.

You can try just pushing it down yourself to save a trip; unless you have to go in anyway.

Haha I definitely will, gave it a shot last night. I do have an appointment though so if it doesn't pan out I'll ask them to take a look.

Update - dealership said it was normal for these cars and there was nothing to do. Can some other CS owners post pics of what theirs look like? If it's normal then whatever, it's fine, but if not I might look into it further.

I think the overlap is backwards. Hard to tell (don't have my glasses on) but are they reversed? Meaning the headliner piece overlaps the trim? Should be that the trim overlaps the headliner.

No the trim is on the outside of the headliner, but it's just much higher. Any idea if I can fix this myself? I don't want to keep going back for minor fixes and be the guy they don't like if I can avoid it

pull it back and see if the clips are bent... might not be fully engaged.

Any idea where about the clips are? Like if I just pull the trim back slightly and go around looking, will I see em?

I totally agree with HD. That is not normal.

What did they do? They pushed the headliner up or trim down, but it moved back? Would you mind sending some pics?

"Normal" or not, it's certainly unacceptable, and I'll bet it's not actually normal at all.

Try some good hard pushing/squeezing to get the liner up in place and weather strip seated down over the top of it and even.
