Can anyone help? I've slightly kerbed my spoiler lip below front bumper, no apparent damage, but it's popped some kind of plastic stud and now there's a gap. Can't for the life of me get it to pop back into place. Does anyone have any advice on how these things clip on?

Can't get a photo but they look like actual clip hook things part of the lip spoler itself. So should just push the whole lip back (or forward) and hook up again (the same way they presumably were forced off). Except they don't and I'm scared to use too much brute force and ignorance.

I had to loosen the other end then slide the entire piece over and back. I could not get the one side back in otherwise.

You are absolutely spot on, thanks. The clips on the lip won't fit back into the holes under the bumper unless you slide it across first about half an inch to where the holes are wider and then slide it back again. Two screws at each end of the lip to remove and then it'll slide across.

Correction. Several screws all along from one side to the other. But they do need removing in order to slide the spoiler lip. You very definitely can't just force the clips back in their holes.

Interesting, my 718 has only two, one at each end, both Torx T-25 screws. My car was made in early 2017, I wonder if they went to more screws to hold the spoiler in place better, its pretty easy to knock loose when the front scrapes on a driveway, etc.

Interesting timing that this post popped up in the What's New feed today. I scraped my front spoiler lip loose while parking last night and had to reattach it this afternoon.

My Boxster S is a 2019 and has one Torx T-25 at each end of the lip. I do not have the Sport Design package, if that matters.

The directions posted above to remove the T-25 screw at each end and slide the lip to the side are correct. There is a really long tab extending from each end. Those need to go in first, and then there is a tab in the center that slides in the opposite direction of the other hooked tabs. This will loosely hold the lip in 3 places while you push the other tabs up into place and then slide the whole lip the other direction to lock everything. It's kind of a juggling act trying to keep the tabs in place as you are slide it to the side. A second set of hands sure would have been helpful. I bet the person on the assembly line can do it in 3 seconds though.

My car is painted white, so it was easier look at the tab slots and see what needed to be done. I hope this helps.

That's really helpful - I scraped hard coming out of a hotel parking lot yesterday, and halfway home the whole thing came loose except for the two ends. By the time I found a place I could safely pull over a bunch of the tabs that hold it in place had been abraded, so I just took it off. I'm going to have to order a replacement so the installation instructions will come in handy. Small world - my 718 is white too :)

Glad to help! It's pretty easy once you see how the tabs work.

If I replace mine or have to reattach this one in the future, I would lubricate the attaching surface with a little bit of dish soap to allow the lip to slide more easily.

I'd be interested in hearing the cost of a new spoiler lip. That part almost seem sacrificial in such a low car.

The cost is around $200.

My apologies. I stayed on this forum because it's much better than any others and I thought most of the issues just the same. I'm in a 991.2 and thought it would be the same as my old 718, it looks identical. Same principle though, a metal screw at each end allows it to slide across to reengage the tabs, which otherwise can't just be forced back in. Just that the 911 has several smaller plastic screws all along the length.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought you maybe had the Sport Design aero kit and it was different than the standard spoiler. Enjoy your 991.2.

Just to follow up to dave92101, in the SF Bay Area a new one set me back $215, which seems about right for Porsche prices :). I installed it last weekend and the installation was easier than expected, and the tip about the middle tab being backwards save me a couple of minutes of confusion. As Dave said, once you figure out how it works it's pretty easy once you see how it is supposed to work.

Thanks for following up to post the cost and your experience getting that attached. I'm glad that it all worked out well.

Hi Guys
Is there anyone that know how to remove the front lip on a cayman gts without to take out the front bumper
Thank you very much
The one on my Boxster S has a T-25 screw on each end and a series of clips molded into the lip that snap up into the painted part. Once the screws are removed, you would slide the lip to one side and it can be unclipped easily.

I realize that the GTS version is somewhat different looking, but is it possible it attaches in a similar way? You may want to try looking underneath using a hand mirror and see if there is a fastener at each end.
