I noticed the S model changed in US pricing from $69,900 to $72,000 in the past few weeks. Times are tough!

Can you imagine the margins with the USD appreciating. You've got to hand it to them.

Makes perfect sense. Increase the price when there are already cheaper alternatives out there that are threatening sales - C8 & 2021 Supra. Don't get me wrong, I love my Cayman S with manual transmission, but the price premium for the 718 is hard to justify.

I'm sure I'll draw criticism for this comment, but I don't feel that a C8 or a Supra is a "substitute good" for a Cayman. There may be a value proposition in buying a C8 or Supra over a Cayman, but I don't think either check all the same boxes, at least they don't for me.

The US confugrator still has the base price at 69,900. (Just looked right now).

I stand corrected! I clicked on 718 and looked at the S, but didn't notice it was Boxster S. So I guess no change? I dun goofed.
