Occasionally I want to zoom in for a greater detail at a junction, or zoom further out for long runs. After a few seconds it just goes back to a “default” zoom level.

Does anyone know how to get the sat nav to stay at fixed zoom setting?

I’ve tried selecting/deselecting the Autozoom option but it always seems to autozoom regardless.

On page 184 of the manual, it mentions both AutoZoom and Manual Zoom. Are you selecting Manual Zoom and trying that?

I’ve seen this too but cant see a Manual zoom option on the screen. There’s only the option to turn Autozoom “On” or “Off”. Assume turning AZ off would activate Manual zoom.

Yep, you would think. I won't have my Cayman for a couple of weeks yet as its in the middle of the Atlantic at the moment, so I've no actual experience. Also, I didn't order the Nav hoping I can make do for tooling around with Maps or Google Maps on Apple CarPlay. We will see.

Best solution I’ve found so far is to manually use the touch screen to move the map a couple of millimetres. This then fixes the position. Just have to remember to hit the “re-centre” icon once I’ve cleared the junction. Not ideal but does the trick.

If anyone finds a way to fix the zoom I’d be most appreciative to hear about it.
@JazzCatGab Modern apps render the built in Nav almost pointless but there is something nice about having it all built into one place.

I tried this today, and it seemed to work. Opened the map in the multi-function screen.
Clicked and turned off the auto zoom. Manual zoom was now indicated at the top of the screen.
Went to the large screen map.
Pinched or expanded the screen.
The zoom stayed where I left it.

Thanks Greg. Did you do much driving thereafter? Mine always defaults to some random zoom. I’ve tried turning off the Intersection zoom via setting but that hasn’t helped. Also tried switching to normal 2D mode. It seems to hold at my desired zoom for a while but then reverts.

I’ll try using the pinch to zoom function. I’ve currently been using the rotary switch to zoom.

Thanks for taking the time to check and respond.

So I use the right hand knob on the PCM to fix the zoom. It never moves unless I manually change it again. What I have discovered today, which is a departure of the Macan PCM (3.1?) is that regardless of the MFD screen you're using, the NAV screen appears before any turn or Mway junction. Very clever and a good improvement IMHO
