I'd like to treat the wheels. Wondering if the typical sealants, which aim at producing high gloss, will corrupt the semi-matte appearance of the platinum satin. Do I need to be particular about the product I use, or does it not matter?

I asked the same question when Opti-Coating the matt black rims on my RS265 and was assured there would be minimal difference. Once done I was happy with the result. A couple of years later I curbed one of the rims and replaced it with an OEM one but never had it Opti-Coated. I know this and can see the slight difference but I don’t think anyone else would.

Yep; I jumped in and did it yesterday. Used GTechniq C2v3 Liquid Crystal. I think it looks fine.

But it looks like I'm going to miss the 70th anniversary festivities, and the group drive through the Gap, because of a veterinary emergency.

I used Gyeon Rim coating on wheels and calipers. It didn't change the appearance of either that I could tell without maybe seeing something uncoated side by side. Even then I doubt I could tell.
