Had my oil changed at an indy shop. They have the Durametric software, but it’s not yet supporting our cars. Called durametric and they said it should be ready later this year.

Other than going to dealer, is there any other way to reset the service interval? Or make sure I don’t get an indicator light when the interval comes to date?

I performed the oil change in my CS and was concerned about the cost of getting a reset. I called the nearest Porsche dealer and the service guy said that they would reset it "no cost". I went into the dealership, met the service guy and plan to use this dealership for future work.

Procedure took less than 5 minutes.

lol... Ask them if their hourly rate is $870, or how else they would come up with that number?
Some dealers charge a minimum to hook their diagnostic equipment up to the car. There's another dealer 45 min away, so I'll try them. Otherwise, if the light isn't too annoying (hasn't come on yet, but it will soon), I'll wait until Durametric supports the 718 and the indy shop will reset the interval.

Just an FYI for those living in the MD/DC/VA area.

Bethesda Porsche will reset the service interval at no cost.

While my car was having the intake grilles installed, I requested a price quote for the 20k service. They provided an itemized list of services, but only a "total" price ($1500). Since i planned to do many of the services myself (wiper blades, cabin filter, airbox filter, oil change and possibly brake bleed) I requested itemized pricing. To get to the point, i was told that interval reset has always been a free service. This is consistent with my experience with the Rockville Porsche Dealership (which is now Bethesda Porsche).

Good news for those that like to DIY.

A little old post, but my 718 was in storage when the MA inspection time came and so I got it out of storage and inspected this month. Now I have the service message indicating "Inspection now", does this also require the dealer to reset or can I reset this myself? I don't remember what I did last March when I got it inspected.

I have the iCarsoft PORII and used it to reset my oil service reminder.
There is also an option to reset inspection.
So I purchased the iCarsoft POR v2.0 and went through the options but couldn't find anything about resetting the inspection. I see that there's another product called iCarsoft POR II that you reference. Could you send me a screenshot of what setting you would use on your POR II to reset inspection and I'll try to see if I can find the same thing in the POR 2.0, if not, I'll return this one and get the POR II instead.

Yes 2 different ones and one doesn’t do oil reset on 718 it seems.
