There have been a few cars before my 718 Boxster, my first car was an '87 VW Golf Mk II with a 1.6 litre turbo diesel.

That car unfortunately was stolen and totaled by the thieves, I replaced it with a '94 Toyota Carina E 1,6.

After that I bought my first brand new car, an '07 Ford Fiesta ST150 with a 2.0 NA engine with 150 horsepower stock, mine was dynoed at 180 horsepower with mods, it was a really fun gokart like experience, however not ideally suited for the commuting I was doing in it.

So I replaced it with a more sensible '10 VW Polo 1.6 TDI.

When I was done at university I thought I deserved something more fun, so I replaced it with a '12 VW Polo GTI which had a 1.4 litre twincharged (turbo AND supercharger) engine with 180 horsepower.

But when I started making more money I quickly realized I could afford something more expensive and luxurious, so I sold it and leased a '14 BMW 428i Coupe.

The 428i was a nice car but I felt that I needed a second car for summer fun, so I bought my first "second" car an '89 BMW E30 320i.

It however quickly became apparent to me that I did not really enjoy an old car as much, it was not really as practical as a modern car and it needed quite a bit maintenance, so I bought a '17 Mazda MX-5 (Miata) 1.5 litre instead.

When the lease on the 428i was over I leased a '17 BMW 330i instead.

But as I discovered I could afford a Porsche 718 Boxster instead of my Mazda, I felt the 330i was too expensive as a daily driver, so before talking delivery of my Boxster I swapped the 330i for an '18 VW Golf Performance, which is now replaced with a '19 Tesla Model 3 Performance.

That was all of my previous cars, luckily they would just fit within the 10 image limit in a post :D

Lotta' newish cars here. Now let's look at a few old ones.

My first car, '63 BMW 700 Lexus, rear-engine, air-cooled 2-cylinder boxer, like the motorcycles, serious oversteer. Also shown is me as a dorky college junior.

My first real car, '69 Fiat 124 Spyder, 1438cc twin-cam, 6800 rpm redline, aluminum cross-flow head, 5-spd gearbox, 4-wheel disk brakes w/ rear wheel compensation, Italian style. Also shown is me a few years older but not much wiser.

The Fiat was replaced with a faded BRG Porsche 912, which was replaced by a green Fiat X-1/9. I have no digital pics of either of them, alas. A string of less intersting vehicles followed.

Ouch...another one that got away. My girlfriends father was selling his army buddies ‘63 3500 GTI spider with ~10K miles. $200 short andI’m still kicking myself for not selling blood three times that day.

I was a young soldier in Italy and bought that '62 3500 GTI for 2500 bucks...the alloy body was perfect, everything worked and the interior was fine...I had the engine rebuilt in Vicenza...it was my daily driver for some years and sold it in the States in '79...I could not get parts e.g. the twin plugged engine required a 12 lead dizzy cap etc....I miss that car greatly. The memories that went with.... 26 single, Maserati and my own apartment in Torre De Quartesolo....
