It's finally time to build our non-valved, performance oriented rear exhaust system for the 718! Our Valved Exhaust is a great PSE alternative but we need something a bit more wild. This system will be compatible with the factory downpipe or any aftermarket downpipe that fits the OEM style exhaust flanges. We're building this exhaust to be very durable. The Suncoast Parts Project 718 experienced a failure with a similar system from another brand on track and will be long term track testing our system. Expect a cast x-pipe, flex sections, and laser cut / press brake bent brackets to ensure the system will perform on the street and track for years to come.

We're using the same development car from our previous round. This car is has been used for HPDE events and is currently equipped with KW V3 coilovers and optimized with an ECU Tune.

We'll be doing videos with stock downpipe, SOUL Sport Cat Downpipe, and SOUL Competition Downpipe.

Stay tuned for more and let us know if you have any questions!

Here's another shot from yesterday. Our Porsche Performance Specialist, John Gaydos, is in the middle of prepping his car for a TrackXperience HPDE at NYST. We also just wrapped up a 987.1 Cayman turbo build optimization (check out our blog post on it here) and part of that involved setting up our new Lincoln Electric plasma cutter to make a plate for that exhaust and the brackets for the 718!

With this machine and our press brake we can quickly make prototype brackets to ensure proper fitment and road test before making them in bulk with a laser cutter.

Here's V1. We're now developing an adjustable bracket that mounts to the transmission like OEM. We've have two variations - one for manual and one for PDK for the best possible fitment.

As mentioned earlier, we're incorporating flex sections into the piping to reduce vibrations and ensure longevity of the pipes.

Here's another revision of our mounting bracket with the prototype system on the vehicle.

It allows for adjustment and a perfect fit. It also reduces stress on each individual component of the bracket to prevent points of failure.

Here is the prototype system in all its glory!

Here's a taste of the exhaust paired with our catless Competition Downpipe and ECU Tune:

That mounting bracket is a pretty elegant solution (y)
Thank you! The laser cut version should look even cleaner.

Hi Mike,

Any progress updates on this?
We're in the process of finalizing our mounting bracket for PDK cars. I'll be launching the system for manual trans cars tomorrow!

Here's an excellent video by killboy.com (renowned media capturer at the Dragon) of his 718 Cayman S with our Sport Package (Performance Exhaust System + Sport Catalytic Converter Downpipe)
