Hi, did you notice that when car is on Sport mode sounds louder than Sport + on idle?

My car has Sport Chrono and PSE among others...

If you drive it hard in Sport+ it will do some pops and cracks on downshifts but that is natuaral not from gas being pumped in the exhaust.
Also @ 3000rpm something happens (pdk), floor the pedal in fourth gear and let it go atleast above 5000rpm.
Release the pedal and let the engine slowly go down in revs and when the engine hits 3000rpm it sounds like a smal rev match.
Its hard to describe it so try it and you will hear it :)

edit
Pull the car above 6500rpm and it also does the same thing @ 4000rpm.
Hm........

Yeah no offense, but the Sport-vs-Sport+ question (including exhaust) is made clear in several places in the Owner's Manual. Probably a good idea to read it, OP; it'll answer several questions, including some you probably haven't thought of yet. :D

Any reason why?
When we took delivery at the Atlanta PEC in April, our host and professional driver (that took us on the track), while demonstarting the car's features, volunteered the exhaust note is more muted in S+ because S+ maintained some minamal boost in expectation of a sudden large demand for power. I assume that means maintaining a few pounds of boost means there must be some corresponding load on the exhaust turbine and that means there is slightly more back pressure. That, in turn means the exhaust transient sounds (pressure waves or energy) are attenuated in the higher pressure path they must take to get out the exhaust pipe.
