Hi all
I was just informed that my car 718(manual) is waiting in the factory for ‘packaging’ for transporting it to port
How long should it take
And to the ship...
Thanks all

I can't help on that, but am wondering what your first Cayman was?

Hi, what date did you order your 718? I ordered 718 boxster (also manual) in late Feb. After, reading this post, I put a call to my SA. Thanks.

If your interested, your salesperson can tell you the name of the ship. There are free services available that are updated only once or twice a day, instead of continuously for the paid subscriptions, so you can follow your car across the Atlantic. My carrier, in February 2019, was the Siem Cicero. It took it about four weeks to go from Emden to Jacksonville, including a stop in a port near near Newport. Also, for reasons I will never know, the carrier appeared to just drift around one location in the middle of the Atlantic for two days. Also, after it arrived in Jacksonville, there was a three week interval until I was able to take delivery at the Atlanta PEC. That three weeks included what a I guessed was a weeks delay to fix a safety recall issue with the gas tank at the Jacksonville port. If I remember correctly marinetraffic.com was one of the sites I used to track its progress.

Wish you the best with your new Porsche.

Thanks for quick response. I was hoping your anticipated delivery was 2020. I still have a lot to learn...and praying I receive my 2020 Boxster before 2021.
It is difficult to tell in general. Models are built in groups and that data is not published. I lucked out when I ordered mine. The dealership had a similar model that was nearly through the prebuild process and I managed to be able to change their order before build was locked to my build. That lock happens a month before it is actually built. So, I ordered my build on Oct. 3, 2018 for my 2019 base Cayman. The build lock was Oct. 8, the car was built on Nov. 8, and was delivered Dec. 21.

Any one knows to the Middle East what port they use to ship the cars... Koper in Slovenia...?
Here is the shipping company they use for Britain, U.S., and Canada. PWL
And if you find a schedule there, you can track the ship by name at: Marine Traffic: Global Ship Tracking

Hope this helps.

Just remember that the free ship tracking is only really accurate when the ship is close to land-based radar. The satellite information is "pay only".🙁
I found this was not entirely so. Last year, there was indeed continuous tracking when it was in range of land based radar. However, I did find a subscription services that did provide free updates once or twice a day while it was well out of range of any land based radar. I was just looking at the chart on which I plotted the daily and twice daily fixes and I certainly did not pay for something that was fun to do for a few days but had zero other importance. I attached the chart. If anyone wonders how I had to time to do this I can only say I am retired and although I am never in need of finding something to do I have the time to do whatever I want and this was all part of the excitement of anticipating delivery of my new toy.

Mine was ordered on December 3rd and with my dealer in NY closing their showroom and laying off salesmen due to the virus I can’t get any updates. I’m hoping that what I’m seeing here is reflective of my potential progress. My Cayman ordering adventure started in September with specking a vehicle working on a percentage off, then waiting for the 2020 ordering to be available and applying the same percentage.

Yeh, I'm in FL, ordered my 2020 718 manual boxer, gentian blue w/blue top, end of Feb.....guessing it will be Aug/Sept?
Gentian Blue with blue top absolutely rocks! Ours was a CPO, otherwise it would have been spaced with a blue top.

Hope yours arrives soon ... enjoy!
