In the process of ordering and intrigued about tinted taillights. Wonder about brightness of rear lights compared to the red ones.

Also love to see how it looks if you can post a pic. Thinking of going Agate Grey with the tinted taillights. Thank you.

I like the look of the tinted tail lights just to get rid of the ugly red plastic.

Has anyone tried the tint on normal tail lights?

@RandyAc 's ceramic coating is not tint; it's a clear protective coating.

The Porsche OEM tinted taillights can easily be discerned from the standard OEM taillights because the LED elements are all clear. On the standard OEM version, the horizontal taillight 'bar' is red.

I would not tint the taillight glass. It will result in diminished illumination and is likely illegal.

That is what I thought, thank you for the clarification. I have looked at the OEM tinted tails, not sure what the difference is between US vs ROW, any idea?

It probably has to do with the color of the turn signals. They are red in the U.S., but amber most everywhere else.

But per DOT amber is acceptable? There is couple hundred $$ price difference between the two.
Yes, amber is fine. That said, I'm only speculating -- but it makes sense.

The price difference is likely exchange rate-related. No Porsche parts dealer in the U.S. likely will sell the EU taillight nacelle alongside the U.S. version unless they specifically noted the differences between the two -- but an EU-based parts dealer wouldn't note that. EU-spec exterior lighting is a popular U.S. mod with many imports for two reasons these days:
1). The aforementioned amber turn signals
2). EU sometimes specs LED elements in places where the U.S. spec doesn't (example: early Mark VIII VW GTIs).

I did it with ever GTI and Golf R I owned in the past. Good memories ;)
We will find out after I upgrade mine and see if it works as nobody selling these has any clue on differences.
