I don't know quite how to explain this, but in recent weeks while moving slowly and turning, it feels like my tires are not consistently grabbing the road. I feel a "crunchy" feeling for several seconds while turning. Maybe some wheel hop? The tires have just under 16,000 miles on them and are not wearing evenly, so maybe it the tires and not something more seriously. Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine does it on very slow, sharp turns. 19 inch P Zeros with 4k miles and no abnormal wear. Initially I thought it was due to running over painted parking lot lines, but it happens on unpainted lots as well. I have no explanation.

Yes, definitely the Ackerman effect... If I didn't know about it in advance it would have scared the sh** out of me first time experiencing it.
But it is actually not a serious issue, but merely a by-product of the suspension setup being tuned for high performance rather than comfort.

Thanks all for the responses. Makes sense now and I was relieved to see the Porsche technical bulletin that described the tire scrubbing, as well as the youtube video.
I live in Texas as well and have really only noticed this occurring during some of the cooler temps.

It’s called Tire Scrubbing. Common with summer tires operating below 45 F. Search for it in this site and you’ll see my posts about it.
