Porscheboost posted an article about the tte upgraded turbo for the S, so I did some searching and found they make one for the Base engine too. Looks promising. My post has a link to a site that sells them. Both versions, my link goes to
The 2.0t upgraded turbo. It’s a new twin scroll compressor with an upgraded turbine that you can drop in with no tune needed. It should, in theory, spoll faster and make more boost with slightly reduced charge temps.

I looked into this too. The VTG version is built-up using the OEM BorgWarner housing. Presumably the cost is less if you trade-in your stock turbo.

Can't find data on the compressor/turbine wheel diameters, but the biggest after-market VTG with this housing I've seen is the Tial with 68mm compressor (coincidentally matching the stock GT2). So barely bigger than stock 718 GTS' 67mm. I don't imagine the stock housing could accommodate much bigger wheels. TTE (and Tial as well) could be getting flow gains from how they shape the blades/tips, more so than just size.

Their VTG model is designated '580', representing a theoretical limit of 580 horsepower! So much for "ditch the VTG to get more power'. Unlikely the 718 engine and chassis could handle anything near that without lots of beefing-up, but it does make around 440hp with turbo/tune/exhaust seem like a nice unstressed goal (at least for PDK cars; not sure the 6MT clutch/gearbox can handle much more than the 309 lb./ft. where Porsche draws the line for S/GTS).

Will be interesting to see if the Germans TTE and Ehresmann team up for a turbo/tune/exhaust kit in the mid-400s hp. I'd love to see that on track against the upcoming GT4....

Who would even do the tune for this? I thought the intercooler cant keep up with the current turbo. This is very exciting. I said when I first got my GTS that 600hp would be ideal. The wait for mods is agonizing.

Oh well, once there is a bit more selection available I'll do what I did with my N54 twins. Take them off, send them to a local reputable turbo service shop and have them work on the compressor housing, install a new billet compressor wheel, clip the turbine, service the entire thing and balance it. Usually that is by far cheaper than buying these "ready made" kits, especially for the more exotic brands like Porsche where there usually is a steep "sports car tax" applied to all the parts.

Tuning options are going to be interesting after that, need to research a bit more into this.

Is there any intercooler upgrade kit available on the market to match these turbo kit?
First, someone needs to figure out how to get more fuel into the motor. I assume these motors do not have low pressure port injection, but instead all Direct Injection. Also I don't think there are any aftermarket fuel pumps for these cars. I don't think there's even any room for E85 on the stock fuel system.

Once we have the above figured out, then I think a bigger / hybrid turbo becomes a real proposition. And if we play with this thought further: can the motor take the additional power? I think it can as long as we maintain the gradual linear OEM-like power curve. Any sudden spike in Torque will bend these rods much sooner than later after about 400 ft*lbs of torque to the wheels.

I believe we have all forged internals unlike Audi RS’s.
Believe it or not, some of the RS models actually have the weaker components. The rods from an RS3 is NOT forged and will and have bent many of them during the earlier stages of tuning. It forced the tuners to be lazer focused on how they tune them and thus I've been saying that if unitronic comes out with a tune, I'd be the first to get it.

You are right that our motors have forged components. After some research, I think these Porsche motors are actually stronger than what the Audi's have. The rods also are just a tiny hair thicker as well. This is why I think you see a lot of 'private label' tunes for our cars. It can just take additional power without much compromise.

They are only 2 Tuners I found which started with them, MTR-Performance and Celtic-Tuning and both are at 500ps, maybe with WMI or an Upgrade High Pressure Pump they can go up to 550ps.
I have checked both websites and haven't found anything about 500PS with TTE turbo. MTR more focused on Audi tuning and Celtic, at least, show the option of 718 with promises of 434PS on stock 718 S turbo w/o any mention about gas used.
