So this weekend I signed up for a UK Factory Order 718 Cayman GTS with manual gearbox.

I get the impression my OPC - Porsche Guildford [Surrey, UK] - can’t place an order until build slots become available.

Guessing this will only happen when the factory re-starts production. Post WLTP re-tooling/re-design.

My OPC are yet to draw the 3k deposit from my account so all-in-all, and given I’m ordering the manual gearbox, resigned to a February 2019 build at the earliest.

My questions to other members:
1. Please share if you place a UK order - your choice of gearbox; PDK of 6MT - particularly interested in when your OPC take your deposit and most importantly, when your build slot is confirmed.
2. Will you be specifying factory collection and if you are, what price are you being quoted.
3. Any specification changes on 2019 build vehicles - if you learn of any changes, please share with the forum.

I’ll keep you updated on my own order/experience.

Good choice, I specd the same back in March at the same OPC and was told there was no confirmation on build slots until they re-open. Fortunately Silverstone specd one in their last pre-closure build slot back in April and I nabbed it (scarily close to my build)

What I'd love to know is their view on future manual GTS's. My Silverstone dealer continues to tell me that it is highly unlikely that Porsche will make manuals again in the 718. When pushed his view is that he loves manuals, so they built as many as possible (blue one in stock now) as he was told they may not be coming back to these shores.

Guildford also have a Blue GTS manual - its sat in their showroom - colour and interior not close to my spec.

I’m guessing Silverstone and Guildford are two of the five Porsche UK owned dealerships so possibly the same car.

I doubt Porsche will withdraw the 718 in manual form.

It's a Sytner, the guy specd it up to about 85k, on a manual! (carbon ceramic and door sills) my theory is he over specd it so they can keep one around the office to drive. It's done nearly 3k miles now and it's not pre owned. Thats twice as many as mine!

I notice that the UK configurator hasn't changed since about April 2017 (when there was a price rise and various spec changes). I'm interested in what Porsche said about the price and what specs you were offered - were they the same as the current configurator or do the Porsche dealers have another spec and price that they've not published yet? It would be quite surprising if the price, for example, remained the same over 2 years - especially as the pound has slumped against the euro.

When I orderd my CGTS MT in July here in Belgium, there were no adjusted prices/configuration changes known. The prices will be adjusted around November by about maximum 3% and then the changes in the configuration/configurator will be known. An other dealership showed me a mail that the first cars from 2019 will all be PDK (the WLTP changes are done first on the PDK's).
The dealership where I orderd assured me they will get some slots on manuals for January/February after contacting the main Porsche office in Belgium (in my presence). So maybe I get lucky and with te configurator changes I get some options at a better price or I get unlucky and the same configurated car will be more expensive (3%).

Was yours the blue one in the showroom last week of August?

Mine is an agate grey with black alloys and lots of other black bits, picked it up in May, blue one I think is still there. Was very lucky with my spec as was almost identical to my original factory choice
