I like the black anodized aluminum with black interior look in your case.

I have it in my black/red interior Macan and find it doesn't offer enough contrast for my taste. Possibly because the trim pieces are large in the Macan. Maybe in all red interior it would be nice. I certainly prefer it over the satin nickel norm. I find the silver too common and bland at this point. I got the carbon fiber in my GTS because it was part of the package. If I had to pay some stupid amount for Carbon, I may be tempted to go black aluminum.

Moved to the Interior subforum here.

Folks: When possible, please don't serially post in general-interest forums such as What Did You Do To Your 718 Boxster/Cayman Today? for content that has a specific category in the Tech and Performance section. This particular modification has a TON of interest among the members; there will inevitably be questions.

Also, please don't serially post in general-interest forums if your intent is basically to say 'Lookee what I did!' and then not participate in the thread or answer questions about what you did. That helps no one except that OP's ego.

Thanks, everyone.

How difficult was it to install?

Did you also change the part around the ignition key slot and light switch?
The installation took less than 10 minutes. It was really easy, even the trim around the ignition. You do have to unplug the light but it is a simple plug.

I actually used the instructions on the MACarbon site. The trim for the 718 is the same as for all Cayman and 911 from 2013+. The trim I got actually came out of a 2015 911 GTS.

Dang! I wish I'd seen this post a while back! I came here hoping to find a way to install my new CF dash pieces. I went to the MACarbon site and saw the entire set for less than what I paid for dash and shifter. Anyway, thanks for the tips. I installed it with only a little gnashing of teeth over the cup-holder pull-out. I used a small die-bar (6" or so?) that I bought at Ace on a whim one day. I pried sideways on the left side first, it made an unholy noise when it came out, but nothing broken or damaged.

To find the instruction, go to the dash pieces. Overlaying one of the illustrations, there's a button for "instructions". I don't know what gorilla could pull this cup holder straight out of the hole without a tow-chain...at least on my car....very very tight. Have fun, kids!

:)
