Based on the responses, I feel sorry for Amazon
Is it realistic to expect Amazon to be the primary means of support for a third party product? Can you imagine if they tried to do this for every product? Pretty solid that they’re willing to offer refunds. Go to the manufacturer for support, not the retailer.I deeply experience this. Amazon will only give you a generic manual. However, the manual is not a panacea, and it may not be mentioned in many cases. For the situation I encountered, there is no corresponding content in the manual. I have sought their help many times for this, but have not received a response. In the end, I had no choice but to refund, which was really annoying. The experience was terrible!

Carlinkit only provides technical service support for customers who purchase products directly on their website. If you place an order on Amazon, you can only ask Amazon for help. So that's why I finally decided to purchase on the website to get guaranteed service. Why would you ask Amazon for help & not teh manufacturer?

I do not have to unlock the phone.I have ordered one of the wireless kits for my iPhone. I’m curious though, does it connect even if the phone is locked? When I plug my phone into the cable in the armrest it won’t bring up Apple CarPlay unless I unlock the phone, which is somewhat awkward to do every time.
That’s good to know. I ordered the v3 for my iPhone, apparently it’s coming from China directly so it might take awhile, but I’m crossing my fingers for a seamless experience.I do not have to unlock the phone.
‘using carlink 3 and iPhone XR, waze and amz music.
what I sometimes have an issue with is in fact amz music Which occasionally causes a delay but otherwise, this bit of kit does exa what I want it to do.
ps btw if nobody picked this up. Carlink4 seems to be the one to go to for android, v3 perfect for iPhone and from what I can see, ver 4 gives no benefit for iPhone over v3 Except if you want to pay extra for no other benefits.
Mine arrived in less than a week several days ahead of the estimated delivery date. Has continued to work well after a few minor challenges with the initial setup. That’s good to know. Glad it works for you. What year is your 718?It works well with my car so far. I am happy with my purchase. Highly recommended!

I have a 2022 GTS. Mine (Carlinkit 4.0) automatically detects the iPhone in my pocket and takes a total of 10-20 seconds before everything is activated. It seems to occasionally take longer to load all of my stations from Pandora, but that seems to be a glitch with Pandora/CarPlay that also occurs in my BMW with wireless CarPlay. Maps start working almost immediately.Glad it works for you. What year is your 718?
I've heard that connection time can vary: sometimes quick, other times slow.
I have a 2017 and I can’t tell what causes it to connect quickly or slowly. It’s weird. Worst case I had was only around 30 seconds or so to connect. Not too bad. Typically it’s within 5 seconds.Glad it works for you. What year is your 718?

Since I ordered from Amazon, manufacturer wont provide support. This
I ordered the Carlinkit 4.0 from this site: Carlinkit Wireless Carplay Adapter after getting the quick response below confirming it was compatible with a 2022MY 718. They also offered a 15% discount. I have had no issues since the initial installation and it automatically read my new i-Phone 14 that I just got a couple of weeks ago. Also, when I ordered, the expected delivery time was 2 weeks, but I got the unit within 4-5 days. Not sure why one would order this through Amazon, unless the price was significantly less than the 15% discount the offered through the "official" website.I
