In the next few weeks I am going to be switching out my OEM 20" Goodyear Eagle tires for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. I know I should wait until I "need" to swap out the tires but I just love the ride and handling of the 4S tires. So my question is around the approximate value for the Goodyear tires if I try and sell them? They will have around 4k miles on them, well over 75% tread left, and no flat/punctures. However, they were produced in mid 2017 (I bought my brand new 2018 car just a few months ago, was sitting on dealers lot for a while).

Unfortunately probably $100-$150 per tire. The cost and hassle of mounting used tires, and the fact that there’s Michelin out there that many more people love over the Goodyear’s devalues them.

Think of it another way. How much saving would convince you to forgo Michelin’s and get Eagles again?

^ I agree.
Part of the issue is the sizes.
Not many cars, if any that use C/B fitments.

I have Cup2s mounted while I was waiting for track wheels to arrive.
The OE Pirelli (virtually new) will not be going back on the car.
I dont expect to find a taker at $50/ea

I would just use your old tires to participate in a few DEs and/or track events. You could take the time & effort to sell them, but why not skip all that and have a little fun out on the track with your car. The 718 is an awesome car to drive at high speeds.

Even if the Goodyear tires don't have the best grip for track days, as a non-pro driver, they will be good enough. I think you will get more enjoyment burning them up on the track vs the $ you would get from selling them.

Someone would probably buy the used tires eventually, but why not use them to have a little fun and explore the limits of your 718!

My bet is they are worth $75 - $100 each (but not more) to someone who lives locally and needs replacements right now. If it were me, I'd pay at the high end of that range if I found them offered by a PCA member on the PCA website. I might not consider them at all otherwise.

JNS211 has a very useful idea, I think. Might as well use them if you have an interest in the track. Saves wear on the new Michelins!

I was planning on switching my Goodyears for Michelins too, but as a cheapskate I would wait until it was necessary. In the meantime it turned out for me that the Eagles were surprisingly good in cold icy weather. Then, when the rears were just barely down to the wear bars I went full-cheapskate and put on new Eagles and at the rear only. The fronts were only half-worn at that point. I figure at this rate of wear the next time I need rear tires again the fronts will be worn out too. THEN time for those new Michelins all-round! The Michelin tires are reported to have lower road noise, and that would be the main benefit for me.
