Folks

Looking at my build schedule, my car is going to be sat in CT assembly for a week! Does anyone know exactly what this is? I've heard thats its to add exclusive manufaktur options but I really can't see this being the case for the likes of coloured seat belts and chrome tail pipes etc especially with the JIT process.

It makes no sense to assemble a car then take it apart again to add different coloured washer nozzles.

Thoughts?

I think I saw a video somewhere on YouTube that states they put the cars together and then disassemble/reassemble them for exclusive manufactur. Yes. It may not be intuitive but somehow Porsche claims it is a more efficient way than disturbing the automated process they have developed building normal cars.

I am not sure this is for every em option but somehow it wouldn’t surprise me.

Makes the options seem almost cheap when you think about it. LOL.

No idea what CT stands for but yes, Exklusui Manufaktur options are added after the car leaves the production line.

There is a video of Shmee150 in the Exklusiv Manufaktur section with his GT3 changing out the Sport Chrono clock as he had specified a different colour face for it.

Reviving this thread with the hope someone knows what CT-assembly means and why this seems to add a week to the build process.

CT assembly is where is goes to have your exclusive manufacktur items added if they can’t be done on the production line. So items like body coloured headlight washers, stripes, stickers, carbon sill strips etc.

It does makes sense in some cases to assemble the car and then do customizations later. We do this in other industries also. It depends on take rates and QC processes, etc.

Porsche has done this on other models. I know my 718 went through this also.
