I just checked my 2019 GTS on AutoCheck and it shows as GTS / S. CarFax has it as GTS. Vinanalytics has it as GTS. I like Vinanalytics because it shows the build.
Thanks for verifying. Mine is finally showing the same on all of the sources after filing for corrections. However, I also realized that KBB doesn’t show the GTS trim in their database for 2018, only 2019. I reached out to them and they agreed it was an error and to fix it, but wouldn’t give me any timeframe. This was in Feb.

Kind of simplifying it here, and I mean no disrespect to any GTS owners... I remember seeing this on some cars different data sites when I was looking and my take was that in Porsche terms the GTS is an S with a GT package. GT being all the suspension & performance goodies with the added bonus of a larger turbo on top of the S platform.... hence GTS.

I thought the same thing at first. What I found is that even optioning an S with all the features of the GTS still doesn't compute the current (market) resale value.

Worth noting - this seems to be an issue only for 2018.

I went to refi mine and this was the biggest pain.. the credit union was initially at a loss because the VIN kept coming back as an S (on AutoCheck and KBB), rather than a GTS. This incurred a nearly four month delay until I could finally get it corrected. Initially, the lender wasn't able to initially approve the refi because the appraisal (as an S) was off by almost 25%.

I guess I was just curious if anyone else had run into this? All of the hassle would certainly make me rethink buying a GTS vs S in the future. As it stands, KBB still doesn't have the 18 GTS in their database.

Carfax has same bug. App will only list 2018 base and S... no GTS. I sent an issue report but no reply.
This is not a Carfax bug. It's a Porsche issue. For some reason Porsche did not list any GTS's when they first came out. Our car is listed in Porsche records as a Cayman S. I have been unable to get them to change it. Really amazingly stupid and frustrating. Seems to be tradition though with this company -they know how to mostly build cars and that may be about it.

I was just logged in at the MyPorsche site & have discovered that they have corrected the listing for our car. It's always listed our car as a Cayman S and I could not get them to fix the issue previously when I tried. With this discussion I was all set to raise the bar on my efforts. It's nice to discover that it's already been fixed.

I'd say check your MyPorsche listing and see if they've fixed it for you also.

How about that? I checked and it has been corrected. My VIN now accurately lists the GTS model. One small improvement... Thanks for the info.
Amazing! I'm not sure why it happened now when they couldn't make it happen 3 years ago but I'm not going to complain. Maybe it was the crabbing we did here over the last couple days. Maybe they really are listening to their customers! 🤣 Unlikely!! 🙃
